The Coach Career of Mike Taylor (NCAA 13)

My muti-team dynasty with MSU and FIU, got corrupted, so I'm forced to start over. I wasn't going to do another dynasty, but I deiced to, since I was having a lot of fun with my 2 team dynasty. However with this dynasty, I will only control one team, instead of two.

    (Yellow = Conference Championship)

Mike Taylor will be starting off as the head coach of the New Mexico Lobos.

BERKELEY, CA. -- Former New Mexico head coach Mike Taylor is joining the California Golden Bears to be the 20th head coach in the Golden Bears history. Mike Taylor had a record of 24-16 with the Lobos making a bowl game each year, but losing each one. He also won the first Mountain West Conference champion for the Lobos and had a record of 11-3 this past season.

The contract is to be told to be at least 3 years.

"This is truly an amazing feeling right now, to be the head coach for Cal. They rich history winning 5 national championships and 4 in row in the 20's. But, as we all know they kinda fell off the map. But Charlie Weis did an amazing job bringing this team back up to the spot light. And I plan on contuine that and bring this team back to an contender." Said Mike Taylor in the press conference."

"This was an hard decision, as I loved my time with New Mexico and loved coaching them. But, I felt I had to move on and take this offer from Cal. I wish the best luck for the Lobos and hope to see them build up the program much like I did"

We we're able to contact New Mexico, this is what they had to say.

"We won't lie, we would of love to have Taylor comeback. But we know this is a business and we wish him and the Golden Bears the best. Taylor made this team back into a contender in the MWC and gave us an amazing 3 seasons. But, we now need to focus on the future and hire us a new head coach. To build on Taylor's success he has with this program."

Coach Taylor has announced that Junior quarterback David Vega will be the starter, instead of B.R. Holbrook.

Taylor: "Vega is starting instead of Holbrook for one simple reason, he performed better in camp and he gives us a better chance to win."

New Mexico is going to hope to keep the game closer, than many are thinking. For New Mexico to have any chance of making this game they have to pass the ball and get big numbers from it. But they will need their O-Line to protect Vega, If they can't do that, they will most likely have no chance of keeping it close.

Texas is predicted to win, 49-7.

Well, some reason the game never saved, so I had to re-sim the game...I'm not going to re-post this, but the final score was 63-3 Texas..I hate EA.

New Mexico was so close, but couldn't stop Texas on final drive!

(AP) Austin, Texas. New Mexico didn't win this game, but did what no one thought they would ever do and that is only lose to a last second field goal and allow no touchdowns on defense. New Mexico's defense dominated the Longhorn's offense, but the Longhorn's defense did the same to the Lobos offense. New Mexico couldn't get anything going on the ground. Only rushing for 24 yards off 32 attempts.

David Vega played great he made all of his passes, besides 4, 1 touchdown and 231 yards. His favorite receiver was TY Kirk, he had 6 catches for 69 yards.

The game start amazing for New Mexico, their first drive(received ball on opening kickoff) went for 16 plays, almost 80 yards and converted 4/5 3rd downs. They of course only kicked a field goal, but it was a great drive. Texas would then kick two field goals, the 2nd one happen with only 0:29 seconds left till half-time. New Mexico got to the 36 with 0:01 seconds left and was brought to kick a field goal, but a O-Linemen flinched, which caused a false start and backed them down to the 41. The Lobos were out of field goal range, so the only play they could do is a hail mary and Lamar Thomas made a amazing catch jumping for a Texas defender for the touchdown!

New Mexico had the lead out of half-time 10-6. New Mexico's offense couldn't get anything going, they never went past mid-field. A big reason to that is whenever New Mexico got a first down or close to the 50, there would be a holding call on the O-Line. There were 5 holding calls on New Mexico all in the 2nd half, most of them were after getting a 1st down.

New Mexico's defense play amazing all game, only allowing 9 points, no 3rd down conversions and forced 2 turnovers in 59:00 minutes of play. But in the final minute of play, Texas became unstoppable, they converted there only 2 third down plays and got down inside the 10 for a easy game winning field goal, which Fera hit to win the game.

                            Press Conference after the game
Reporter: "How do you feel about your guys great defensive performance?"

Coach Taylor: "We might of not gotten the win, but I'm really proud of my guys on defense and offense. My defense allowed no points to a team like Texas and no one on earth would have thought, we wouldn't give up a touchdown."

Reporter: "David Vega played great only throwing 4 incomplete passes. But you had no running game, coach what do you have to do fix that?"

Coach Taylor: "Vega earned this job during the summer and he showed everyone why, tonight. He will be getting more control of this offense over the course of the season, that is when he'll start putting up some big numbers." Now our running attack, must get better, part of that is their defense never let Vega get out of the pocket and when he did he got sacked. Our O-Line can't have a holding call, after every first down and our backs must hit the hole when its there."
