MLB The Show 13 PS Vita Discussion

Let me start by saying, love 12 - only reason I bought the Vita!

Now, I am hoping they really expand the product and I hope we hear some insight soon.

I would really like more presentation added, better models and movement, updated stadiums and use of old parks.

I actually liked this and played it more than the PS3 counterpart.

    What do you guys think?

I did get the Vita version of 12 as well as the console version and while the ability to resume franchises on the vita was awesome, i wouldnt play it as much as it would ruin my timing when I would go back to the console version. With that said, I hope they add customizable cameras to the vita and find some ways to alleviate the sensitivity of the analog sticks on the Vita.

Im still planning on getting both versions of the show again in 2013.

I'm hoping SCEA fleshes out the player editor and created players don't look like they were stung by a swarm of bees

Oh and if they can find a way to run the game in 60fps (not sure of the likelihood) so the ball doesn't look like its accelerating towards the plate, then I would probably spend more time on the vita version because my mild case of ADD requires me to watch tv, play video games, and surf the internet simultaneously lol

I know they want games to be played quickly being on a handheld, but what makes The Show an ultimate experience is the cut scenes and everything. This needs to be added someway.

Yea, they don't have to have the full cut scenes. But they could have the quick play from the PS3. Show some HR's and some nice fielding plays. I think what drives me the most crazy is ending the game on a HR or walk off and it just goes to the ending screen.

Even auto replays on big plays would help a lot.

I just hope that the Vita version is a clear improvement on last year and we don't end up with something like FIFA 13.

60fps would be brilliant but I'm not sure if it's feasible. Only the devs would know.

Options would be nice, such as presentation options (broadcast elements, custom cameras, replays, etc.) and an option to shrink the ball size to normal.

Auto replay is huge for me and seems like a simple addition. Also, as someone mentioned, better create a player. Finally, include RA Dickeys fast knuckleball!

With that said, u don't need a lot to be satisfied as
                  last years version was great.

About the odd faces...didn't that happen because the faces from the community roster got messed up when ported over from the PS3? You could still make faces that looked halfway normal if you started on the Vita, as far as I remember.

What we really need in that department is better compatibility between the PS3's and Vita's face files.

Presentation is the big one for me on next year's Vita game. At least give us the option to have the full console-like presentation - those who don't want it could turn fast play on and have it be like last year. Hopefully some optimizations to the framerate come with that too, because the non-gameplay scenes that were in '12 were pretty choppy.

The Vita version's player editor was missing a large amount of face sliders, I think all of the ones with the grid were omitted. Basically on the Vita version we were not able to edit specific facial features and as a result were stuck with only the presets. Players generated through the Vita version looked normal on the PS3 though.

hoping they can get this running on native resolution...so that the game looks more like PS3 version

Re: MLB The Show 13 PS Vita Discussion

I'd like to have the option of:

                          Broadcast Presentation
                          Baseball size

Things I want to see included:
Changing fielders when ball is put in play
Being able to press a button to see the catcher suggestion for a pitch
Smoother framerate on balls put in play

Other than that, I'm good. Cross-saves was a reason I bought a Vita, and it has been real nice alternating between the PS3 and Vita with MLB 12. I look forward to that continuing with MLB 13.

By the way, do you guys think we'll still be able to transfer MLB 12 saves after MLB 13 is released? I plan on getting both versions 13, but I'd still like to go back to MLB 12 from time to time.

Same here. In fact, I hardly touched the PS3 version this year. I've played 95% of my games on the Vita version.

I'm the opposite. was so pumped about the vita, but just couldn't get past the different 'feel' of the game. I'm not sure if its the 30fps or what, but it just feels too clunky. I know it can't look and play just like the PS3 version and i don't think i had unreal expectations. just looking forward to giving next year a shot.
