Box out

How in the heck do I box out the CPU for rebounds. I am getting kill on the board. Play with thr Heat. Have the CPU jump over Bosh and James grabbing rebounds like nothing.

I play decent D just to get my heart ripped out by offensive rebounds that lead to 2nd chance points. I too need help with rebounding?!

when the balls in the air hold L2 or Left trigger for xbox and get in front of the cpu.
most of the time doesnt work, they magically slide around you and end up in front of you.
either that or rebound over the top of you from behind which should be an over the back foul but rarely gets called.

Rebounding is an art. There are players who dedicated their whole careers to it. It takes intuition and skill to 'be in the right place, at the right time'.

It's all about positioning and awareness which can be an incredibly hard thing to master. I'm in an online association and I regularly get out rebounded which is something I am working on

Hold left trigger or L2 if on PS3. Move the left stick with your man while attempting to track the ball with your peripheral vision. If you can't track the ball, just worry about staying in front of your man. The man you are boxing out with will rarely get the board, but if you do this against the opposition's best rebounder you can take him out of the game.

When you get the feeling a shot is about to go up switch to the man you want to box out and get a butt on him. This works for me the majority of the time. Hit the trigger, initiate contact and just keep moving with him.
