Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Server Side Update Arrives Tomorrow, Fixes Salary Cap Issues
I don't understand why they have separate online and offline ccm, anyway. seems to me they'd be better off setting CCM to recognize if # of owners=1, then certain things change, but everything else remains the same.
Right now, it seems like they have to fix lots of things twice, because the same problem exists in online ccm and offline ccm.Comment

I'll tell you why I play offline. I started out with an online franchise...and after the first 2 games I played disconnected in the 2nd half and I lost the game, that was it for online for me.I really don't get you offline CCMers. Almost everyone here knows that you can do a single user CC online and get all of the server side updates that the multiple user online CC's get. Yet a lot of you still chose to do yours offline. Now you wanna complain because offline isn't getting the same thing as the online users are getting. Why complain? You made your choice. You could have done a single user online CC, but you decided to do an offline one for who knows what reason. The only ones I feel sorry for are the offliners that didn't have choice of doing an online CC because of a lack of internet. I feel sorry for those guys in instances like this. All you other guys that just didn't wanna have to play on EA's servers, you got what you asked for. Now you can sit back offline and hope that EA comes out with some kind or patch for this or you can quit complaining and get online like the rest of us. I promise you its not as bad as you think it is lol.
On topic, this news makes me quite happy. I am currently -1399.99 in the hole as far as my cap is concerned and I have a lot of young guys I need to resign. I already missed out on some key players because of this. Hopefully my CC will have some kinda plan for people like me that already lost some guys because of this. Anyway, this is good news. I just hope EA didn't break nothing else by fixing this lol.Comment

You hit it right here. Many of us don't want to rely on EA Servers. Should not have to.
Anyway, congrats to online guys for this is a big deal for you. Now let's hope they work on and greatly improve the CPU AI (before the season actually ends).
Sure I give them props for doing this rather than not doing this. But LOL at great support. The NFL regular season is 3/4's over and the game still has major bugs.
And it is as bad as I think it is. Not yet worth buying for me. The CPU AI is still a big issue for me (end of half and game). From what I hear, playbooks are messed up that the recommendation is to use generic playbooks. Dude, you can't promise me anything.Last edited by bucky60; 12-07-2012, 04:54 PM.Comment

I was very happy to sign into my team and see that I can now sign my players. But I can't help but wonder what is the next thing to go wrong. But I am happy that the mode works.Moderator

Re: Madden NFL 13 CCM Server Side Update Arrives Tomorrow, Fixes Salary Cap Issues
#1 reason for me too.
#2 is the ability to use current rosters if there are some players who have been added (PS, UDFAs, etc) or who are a lot better than first rated (Luck, RGIII, etc) that I want long term in my franchise. If I did online, I am stuck with week 4. For offline, I can pick any roster I want to start a CCM with (sometimes it is worth re-starting...I did so to get Alexander on the Chargers).Currently playing Axis Football (2020) as the Nebraska ThunderComment

You can sometimes go by past history and patterns. If there are server fixes, sometimes, in the future, offline should be patched as well.
We'll see.Comment

With the previous history of offline CCM patches, have we had to restart, or have they been implemented in existing CCMs? If the latter, I'm fine with a patch down the road and staying offline. If I'd have to restart, though, I almost feel forced online, and I don't necessarily like that.Comment

The other patches didn't require a restart for existing CC's.With the previous history of offline CCM patches, have we had to restart, or have they been implemented in existing CCMs? The reason I like Offline is being able to save my progress whenever I want.Currently Playing:

They can't fix everything, especially as the more you tweak and patch the more likely things have the potential to break. It would be nice if at some point they announced end of support for Sony/MS title updates, but if work will continue on online CCM because of the different ways they can make adjustments/fixes (and then announce when that support has ended also).
Think that's pretty uncommon across the entire industry though. Usually it is accomplished (poorly) by simply remaining silent.
I think some combination of managing expectations and not knowing if these fixes would ever be deployed are why we remain in the dark until the week of or even a day or two prior. They could still be working on things, a title update (much higher risk, Sony/MS certified and distributed) or more online fixes, but regression testing could uncover bigger problems than they are fixing, essentially cancelling that fix due to resource availability.Last edited by mestevo; 12-08-2012, 01:37 PM.Comment

I would like them to keep support going until they have a working product. Why would you want them to discontinue support with things still broken? They can't fix everything, especially as the more you tweak and patch the more likely things have the potential to break. Thorough regression tests should have been done up front and then maybe crucial support wouldn't have to extend this far out.Comment

Has anyone else found that they've tweaked more than just the salary cap glitch? man coverage and pass rush seems to have been amped up too.Comment
