Start CCM after Year 1

Is there a way to simulate the first season and then choose which team you want to take over? If so how do you do that?

Sim through the first season as a low-rated player, then retire after the season and create a coach.

Start a career with an active coach, advance through until after superbowl, retire that coach, then take over with a created coach or another active coach.

No way that I know of to quickly sim the entire season.

If I retire a player can I choose to go to any team and become their coach?

Yes!

I simmed the 1st season as a 3rd string QB somewhere. Then I looked at which teams fired their head coach and then took the team I wanted to be! I created my fictional coach and got to scout for the draft and participate in the FA signing!

The Giants, Patriots were both available (both coaches retired). I went with a 3rd team though... The Bengals! They already have some nice prospects and a 3rd pick in the draft due to a sub-par season!

When you sim the first season don't forget to read the weekly updates on the draft prospects!
