Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Entering Year 3 of my Raptors Association!
Recap of Year 2:
Made the Eastern Conference Finals and lost Game 7 to the Bulls who won the championship that year. Starting lineup last year was Calderon, Harden, Derozan, Faried and Valanciunas.
Picked up Hardern during Year 1 and Ross is a beast off the bench. Reallly developed him into a excellent outside shooter. Is about 40% from 3 point range and was second to win 6th man.
So I made a big trade right at the beginning of this year. Traded away 2 Second Round picks;one of mine and one I got from Nuggets and a 2nd round rookie I just drafted along with McAdoo for Harrison Barnes. Really needed a good SF for a while now.
Starting lineup going into this year is Harden at the 1, Derozan and Barnes, and Faried and Valanciunas in the middle. Harden is a strong 88 overall. Started this before the update. Derozan is around 85. Barnes is also 85. Faried is a 87 and Valanciunas is a 74 but is strong inside. 6th man will still be Terrance Ross and Role players are Bayless who I aquired during free agency. I released Calderon because he fell 4 points down to a 67 overall. Ed Davis is still a strong player. I think I can win the championship this year!Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
when you have a player on the verge of retirement or around retirement it's always good to trade for a young player that's like 19 or 20 and develop him for maybe 2 to 3 seasons so when your starter retires you really don't have a drop off in productionComment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Recently got this trade what do you guys think
David Lee(Warriors)
1st Round Suns 2013(Warriors)
2nd Round Suns 2013(Warriors)
For
Andre Iguodala(Nuggets)
I thought this sounded fair because The suns right in my association are 5-22 and the pick may be a top 10 pick.
Does this sound fair. And can I move Iggy to the 4
My Squad after this trade
PG: Stephen Curry, Gilbert Arenas,Jarrett Jack
SG: Klay Thompson, Charles Jenkins,Brandon Rush(injured)
SF: T Mack, Harrison Barnes, Richard Jefferson, Draymond Green
PF: Iggy,Landry, Jeremy Tyler
C: Bogut, Festus Ezeli
Im also planing on unloading Richard Jefferson Since he is playing Awesome but I dont want to upgrade his role But he has a huge contract. What do you guys suggest? I am mainly looking for a young SG or Center or some picksComment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
I personally wouldn't make the move because iggy isn't gonna get any rebounds nor is he going have good low post defense I mean if you think he Cbs get the rebounds that you want then yea or if u were goin to play him at sg or sf but I wouldn't really play him at pf but maybe it will work on the game. He is not lebron tho I dnt think he can play the 4 effectively in real life he doesn't have too much post game still a good trade if you gone put him at sf move Harrison Barnes to sg and let. Laundry start at pfRecently got this trade what do you guys think

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Been awhile since I posted here. I decided to start a Bobcats association and play it as legit as possible. The only thing I really did that was cheese was if the other teams asked me for a trade and it favored me I would do it anyways even if it wasn't fair for them.
Starting Lineups and End of Season Stats:
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: 19.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.1 spg, 1.8 bpg (Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year)
Kemba Walker: 17 ppg, 5 rpg, 6.6 apg, 1 spg, .2 bpg
Derrick Favors: 14.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.6 apg, .9 spg, 2 bpg(4th in NBA)
Wesley Matthews: 1.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.4 spg, .2 bpg
Tyrus Thomas: 10.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, .5 apg, 1 spg, 1.6 bpg
Ended the season as the 2nd seed in the East(Far fetched, I know, but it's how I played it out so oh well)
First series pushed to a game 7 against Detroit, and I must say, J.R Smith is the most cheese player in the game. He averaged close to 40 a game in the series and almost knocked me out of the playoffs with 57 in game 7. I won though 110-103. Next series against the 76ers.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
I'm just not satisfied with any team on here so I'm going to the bottom of the league and building the Orlando magic up to relevance again
Now for some reason they seem to like jameer Nelson and IMO he is good but as the new GM we want youth. So when I start I'm thinking of trading for (my favorite sleeper) Rodrigue Beaubois. Super athletic and can score. That will be my only trade as IRL I see beaubois's talent being wasted on the bench in Dallas.
Will get started shortly.

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
I am currently 7-3 in my Lakers association. Superstar simulation seems to easy as I am blowing out most of the teams I play including the Spurs. Even when I am losing it doesn't feel like it because almost every shot I take goes in. I haven't checked, but it feels as if I'm shooting at least 60% from the field each game. Do you guys suggest I play on Hall of Fame default? I am looking for a challenge. I currently play on the 2K camera which makes it so easy to play defense but whenever I switch to the stadium broadcast I can never stay in front of my man and the court feels too cluttered.
I am also considering trading Gasol because at the moment my bench is very weak and I still can't get his jump shot down. I was considering trading him along with maybe Blake for Bargnani, Calderon, and/or Kleiza and although the trade seems fair I don't like it for my Lakers squad.
Also, is there an option to amnesty a player? There is an option to release but I am unsure if it will be used as an amnesty and I'm not risking it on auto-save.GT: assassinK24Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
This thread has gotten me though some long days at work. I finally decided to register and post with you guys. I got introduced with NBA 2k10 and have been addicted since. I always run on HOF, sim sliders with some tweaks, in a 58 game season playing every game, 8 or 9 min for sim, can't remember. I believe in stepping in to help run other teams from time to time (crazy signings, the J. Terry type bench players that get mad, crazy rotations, etc) Grant Hill shouldn't be upset about playing behind Caron Butler and Blake Griffin on a Clippers team that also has Barnes, Crawford, and Odom. I make my own roster tweaks as well as some of the default ratings seem inaccurate to me (Gilbert Arenas comes to mind immediately).
I'm running with the Hawks, and trying to build a contender immediately. The Hawks have too many shooters and not enough big bodies. I immediately sent Morrow packing for Philly in exchange for Kwame Brown and a 2nd round pick. This move has been huge for us, but I'll get back to that later. Next, shipped Tolliver to NO for a 2nd round pick. Sorry, got enough 6"8-6"10 jumpshooting forwards around and I hated that signing to begin with as Damion James clearly outperformed him during preseason
Next, I signed Bibby and Fysenko (sp?) to 1 year min deals to ride the pine in case of major injuries. Nobody wanted Petro without a first round pick too, so he's also riding pine and I may just waive him. So the rotation is
PG: Teague, Harris
SG: Stevenson, Williams
SF: Smoove, Korver
PF: Horford, Ivan
C: Zaza, Kwame
I run a 10 man rotation. I have rookies Jenkins (SG, spot PG mins) and Scott (PF, spot SF mins) who I have used when fatigue was a factor. They mostly ride pine and are more than happy with their 1-3 mpg. I plan on developing them towards the playoffs and over the off season to become rotational guys. I still use them both more than real life Larry Drew and they are always active as the 11th and 12th guys. They haven't made much impact yet but at least one of them will be eased higher into rotation after I deliberate trades and such. Houston has offered me Royce White and 2nd round pick for Devin Harris and although I declined, I may pursue that later. I'm really intrigued by the point-forward types that rebound and bang. Devin feels like he needs a bigger role but is more than happy right now. If he starts to get frustrated I'll probably make a move.
So, we are 7 games in, undefeated, and tied for 1st in the East with Toronto (??) who is 5-0 with Andrea Bargnani (over 20 ppg, over 9 rpg) just ripping through bigs and not-so-bigs alike. Lowry is injured, was having a great 2 games before but Calderon is now averaging 9 ppg with 8.5 apg and was resigned to a 3 year/13.2 million total $ deal. Kobe is having a 38% FG year at 5th worse in the league. He went 7/18 against us, then 1/15 his next game. He had 27 his last game though. KG, Tim Duncan, DH12, and Blake G are the top rebounders (Duncan is 1st at over 11 rpg). I think Tyson Chandler leads in blocks at 3.5, maybe slight more but not less.
Josh is leading us in scoring and rebounding at 21 and 7, with over 3 apg, 1.5 spg, and 1.2 bpg. Horford is doing 17 ppg but only 4.5 rpg. He's been great on the offensive glass at almost 3 a game, and almost invisible on the defensive glass. I'll give him some slack since our 1st game we won on a Horford up and under buzzer beater 84-83. Teague is putting up a modest 11.4 ppg with 9.2 apg (league-1st), 3rd in league steals (maybe 12? can't remember), first in 3 point makes (14). Stevenson is our perimeter defensive guy, like Tony Allen for Memphis. He's shut down Westbrook, Dragic, Kobe, and T Parker for us.
Zaza has been decent with 5 ppg and 4.3 rpg, but until recently was being totally outplayed by Kwame who averages over 6 ppg and is 2nd rebounding on our team at 6.2. I'm also shooting close to 80% at the line with him, I've got the release down pretty good. He's a major piece of our bench, which has been HUGE for us. Harris doesn't really need to score for us, but we need his 4.6 apg to run the bench offense. Lou Will is 3rd in team scoring at over 14 per game and over 3.5 apg. He gets to the line and draws contact, and is a perimeter threat.
Ivan Johnson has been great the last 3 games (15, 19, and 18 pts) and really solid inside. He's close to 10 ppg. Korver has been awesome as a mismatch. He's started at the 2, guarded slow bench PGs on defense, rebounding at close to 3 per game, leads the league in 3 FG % and makes. This is in about 10 mpg out of the 28 played. 9.6 ppg on pretty much all threes. Our bench has been elite so far, and has won us road games against the Lakers and Thunder thanks to their play. I would say as a unit they have performed better offensively and defensively. I didn't realize how poor the Lakers bench was until that evening. Their real life record is now understandable to me.
My plans for the season are to become a top 3 team in the East. Have at least 2 All-Stars. I'm not worried about the playoffs, just making it out of the east and getting through the Heat (who I think we play within 1-3 games...good benchmark) Eliminate unnecessary players. Affordably resign players that matter- Teague, Josh, Ivan, maybe Zaza. Draft wisely...we need a solid young defensive minded perimeter guy, another ball handler in case Teague bolts and Devin isn't serviceable enough or declines more, and a young 7 footer to rebound and defend the post.Comment

Bargnani, Calderon for Gasol, Blake is not fair by any means. Even as a Laker fan, I can see that.I am currently 7-3 in my Lakers association.
