Think that's pretty uncommon across the entire industry though. Usually it is accomplished (poorly) by simply remaining silent.

Thorough regression tests should have been done up front and then maybe crucial support wouldn't have to extend this far out.
Product working just fine for the vast majority of us. At some point they have to move on to the next title.

Not going to indulge in mythical perfect gaming development hypotheticals, the perfect and bug free game doesn't exist.

Vast Majority? CPU AI isn't right, their are problems with playbooks. Theirs a pretty significant list of things that are still not right. That's not looking for some mythical perfect game. That's looking for a game that doesn't still have significant flaws. Nobody's talking about bug free. Have them keep working on fixing the game until the significant flaws are fixed.

Which of these means Madden isn't a 'working product' ? Sounds like it has to be perfect to qualify by your description.

Just wrapping up a game right now, seems to be working to me. A nice tough ball control game, forced a couple late turnovers to pull away.

You're the one suggesting testing should catch everything, and that the game isn't working. If the game 'didn't work' then this forum would be on fire. Instead it's just the usual smoldering angst.

With the salary cap problem supposedly fixed, wouldn't be surprised at all if there isn't another update. Hopefully they're able to make it available to offline players also. To get back to my original post, in just wish it was more commonly communicated when they've moved on to the next title is all.

The game is the best Madden I've played as a franchise player, but will never be perfect.

If the CPU AI isn't working correctly at the end of halfs, then it's not working correctly. That's a major flaw for everyone that plays the CPU. That in no way is demanding perfection, just expecting a working product. From what I've read on OS, team playbooks are broken to the point where the workaround is to use generic playbooks. That's not demanding perfection.

Good for you. That's great your satisfied. The game is broken for many, many others. Seems quite selfish on your part to just totally disregard the flaws that hold others back.

Go back and quote where I said testing should catch everything? How about it at least catches the MAJOR FLAWS.

They should make it available to offline users. And they have ALREADY moved on to the next title. They've been on the next title for a long time now. They'll have a team working on the next title and a team working on maintenance on the current title. Let's have the maintenance team keep working until things are fixed.

Again, good for you. A lot of us are still waiting to purchase the game, while many others have purchased and retired the game already because of the major flaws. Let's have the maintenance team keep working until these flaws are fixed.

I'm going to just continue to be selfish and just save myself the time it would take to just go in a bunch of circles with you and make this thread unreadable for people who want actual information about this update. I made my point about communicating when they're done making changes, not going any further down the rabbit hole. I'll keep selfishly enjoying my 3 CCMs in an imperfect game that doesn't work, maybe one day you'll play it too.

You know what would be nice?
A company that makes as much revenue as EA to make a game and patches ideal for people who BUY the game not whether or not that customer plays offline or online.
It's amazing that we have an offline community and an online community bickering to each other on who deserves what fixes when this product should address everything in a completed game with minor adds/bug fixes be accessible to anyone who forks out their hard earned money for regardless of their play style.

Not sure i worded that right cause i can't open my screen too wide at work but you get what im mean.

                - some of us dont play online even with single person because the cables in the xbox/ps3 for 'er indoors while i play on my ps3/xbox
                - i dont want to connect to the internet everytime i play the game
                - i want to edit rosters
                - i havent got robust internet access
                - im paranoid about the internet
                - a member of my family is paranoid about the internet
                - i dont want my kids connected to the internet unless im there

all of the above are perfectly good reasons why people play offline

for me i just avoid the internet completely unless its on pc. given the history of lost/hacked personal data and certain companies. and i can control some things easier via pc because i have certain programs to help. on ps3/xbox i have to trust microsoft/sony

Even if the bugs get fixed, CCM seems no where near as fun. While hopefully they go back to the way it was, or back to the glory ps2 days, remove the god awful MUT and use that time fixing the defense and unstoppable slot WRs. Seriously who plays MUT? Its a tacked on, half assed card game.
So how is CCM worse than the last 6 yrs of franchise? i would love to know that. outside of the menu being a little tricky to navigate for some at first and the import roster what is the malfunction? Yes as previously stated there are bugs, which EA has done alot o post game work to fix......but its not fun guy? i love XP love it i control who gets better and who dosent. Performance actually matters now and thats something many people can appreciate.its not the same old stale madden franchise mode....theres some depth to it, i like the restructured scouting the fact the ratings for players change based on scheme. I love that the cpu trades are harder no longer will people trade alex smith and a first rounder for young stud rookie quarterback. Teams value there stars more. There is alot to complain about but alot to be happy about as well, the biggest compliment i can give EA is the fact that its December and im still playing madden more than i play my nba 2k which hasnt happened in years.! So to my original point CCM is not alot of things but i dont see how you can say its not fun comparing it to the last madden franchise modes.....

For you sir the future is a sad scary place then. Because al games are going this way MUT patches downloadable content....not tryin to be a buzz kill but you wont enjoy many games in the future without a strong internet connection or being online to catch the patches and the b.s. they want u s to buy. Im not a fan of it but its just the way the world is changing. Good luck to you and youre paranoid family.

Not just games, but everything. It might help to educate yourself on how to be connected securely and protect yourself. In many cases, it's more secure than NOT being connected. For example, this guy is probably completely ok with handing over his credit card to a waiter who can take it in the back and write down every bit of information on it, but is completely afraid of buying something online where a human being never sees his credit card number and it's encrypted all the way to the transaction server. Some people are going to have a hard time making their way in today's world, that's for sure.

This is a great point and is why there is such big business in middle manning. The number of people that will pay someone else or simply avoid doing something simple and convenient, just because they are apprehensive to change, is staggering I bet. Think about the number of people that buy something cheap from Ebay, Amazon, etc and then likely sell that stuff for a profit to people apprehensive of the internets, lol. I can understand an elderly person around their mid 60s or something but there are 30 and 40 somethings seemingly resistant to learning new things.

I had two older ladies at the cable company a few days ago try to explain to me what an internet router does, as if I didn't know, when I told them that's not the piece of equipment needed. It was hilarious, lol.

Lets keep this to madden and not to how scary the world can be. If someone doesn't want to be connected to the internet, we need not point out how "scary" the future will be. Thanks guys.
