Changing your Gamertag to get back into a league?

Hey, I recently left a league on the Xbox 360 and as you guys may know, you can't join an online association after you leave it. I was wondering is there any way I can get back in the league? I heard that If I change my original gamertag (which had no numbers) and put a number in it, then I can. Does anyone know if this works? Will I have to make a new account?

Try deleting all online 2k files (online data, oa files) then search for the league, by the # and the p/w, you should be able to rejoin w/o changing gamertags.

I have not confirmed this, but have read a league forum where they say this works.

Sadly this did not work.

Anyone know if the name change does anything?

That sucks, was hoping this would work.

Here is the original instructions that I found: Credits go to Fuller who posted this.

For Players:

1. Quit The League (Make sure you know ID and PW to re-join)
2. DELETE ALL 2K FILES
-Game Data Utility
-PS3 Saved Data Utility
3. Start your game and get your downloads
4. Re-Join the league with ID and PW on the same name
5. Your account will be cleared of network errors


For Commissioners:
NOTE: If you reset games before the advance day, you will get network errors
(Ex. It is Dec. 29th in game and you reset a game from October 30th - Dec. 28th: Your league will get errors)

1. Sign on a different name and join your franchise
2. Sign on your association owner account and make your other name admin
3. Quit League on your association owner account
4. DELETE ALL 2K FILES
-Game Data Utility
-PS3 Saved Data Utility
5. Start your game on your association owner account and get your downloads
6. Re-Join the league with ID and PW
7. On your other name, quit league
8. You're original association owner account will be updated and clear network errors

I don't think he can do that, he's on the xbox 360

Same principle though, delete all 2k files, restart, let 2k d/l all files again, try to rejoin.

That way just doesn't work. Maybe it is just for PS3

I think it is only for PS3 because when you open up a file on any rehasher there is a profile id for your Xbox Account. I'm not 100% on this but its probably your problem.
