Buehrle spent most of his career in the AL so he should be fine, Johnson has the kind of stuff that neutralizes the whole AL/NL dynamic so he should be ok. As for the other NL pitchers the Jays have, J.A. Happ has performed VERY well after a slow start in Toronto as he was very dominant. The relievers have been very good as Lyon put up some nice numbers in 30 games while Lincoln was not as good I think he'll do better with a full season in the AL under his belt.

If Reyes does better, Buerhle does better and Johnson doesn't get hurt, you guys could go all the way, then fail in beating the Dodgers...

I'm pretty excited to see how the AL turns out next year. The AL East is totally up for grabs and I could see any one of the five teams winning it. The West should be a battle to the end as well with Texas, LAA, and Oakland beating up on Seattle and Houston (although Seattle could be decent as well).Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

I expect Seattle to be legit contenders next year. But the Angels will win it IMO. Or Oakland could pull another year like last year!!! That's why I love baseball soooooooo much!!!I'm pretty excited to see how the AL turns out next year. The AL East is totally up for grabs and I could see any one of the five teams winning it. Just by adding the Astros to the division, the Mariners can easily pick up 10+ wins. I don't know the schedules of the other teams, but playing the Astros 19 times next year means the Mariners play the AL East 14 less times (18-28) and the AL Central 5 less times (3 less games against the White Sox alone, 1-8 against them last year). The Mariners terrible record against the West (24-33) will be offset by the addition of the Astros, and if we assume that they are just as bad next year (and the Mariners slightly improve against the teams they were horrid against), the Mariners could flirt with 90 wins. Of course the Angels, Rangers, and A's will now have the chance to be in the 100 win territory so it doesn't really matter lol.I'm pretty excited to see how the AL turns out next year. Off season ant over yet my man, dont forget about Ackley rebounding from injury, Montero getting better. Plus Jack Z didnt even make a trade until January and that was for Montero.Just by adding the Astros to the division, the Mariners can easily pick up 10+ wins. If I'm Jack Z, I'm paying at least 4/60 for him. He's been the guy I've wanted this entire offseason, even over Hamilton.Comment

Having such a heavy contingent of your top 20 be pitchers in the low minors isn't great, but we have a ton of talent. I'd put us near the end of the top 15."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

The throw-ins have been named!
4:16pm: The Blue Jays also get catcher Mike Nickeas in the deal, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (Twitter links). The Mets also get 18-year-old outfield prospect Wuilmer Becerra.
Nickeas, a Vancouver, British Columbia native, appeared in 47 games for the Mets in 2012. The right-handed hitting 29-year-old posted a .174/.242/.229 batting line in 122 plate appearances with New York. He has MLB experience in parts of three seasons, but is not yet arbitration eligible.
Becerra, a native of Venezuela, played the first 11 games of his professional career this past season before turning 18 on October 1st. The right-handed hitter stands 6'4" and played left and right field during his Rookie League debut. Becerra signed for $1.3MM in July of 2011, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America. He has athleticism and speed to go along with raw power, and could project as a power/speed corner outfielder, Badler wrote in March.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment
