    hetfield's Madden 13 Awesome Sliders

    Hey all,

    I know I'm pretty late to be starting a thread, but I didn't purchase the game until a month ago, and I felt that it would be better late than never to share my findings with the Madden Slider Community. If you were fortunate enough to click on this thread, I deeply encourage you to try out some discoveries that I've made of recent weeks. I feel like this time, I've figured it out. Some of that is due to the latest Madden installment being actually playable. 12 made a little step forward from the disaster that was 11, and 13 is a GIANT LEAP for Madden-kind (I had to, sorry.) Anyway, I will explain as much as I can about these settings and the reasoning behind them all.

    Game Options

    Skill Level: Custom
    Quarter Length: 15 Minutes
    Minimum Play Clock Time: 15 Seconds

    Injuries: 55
    Fatigue: 50
    Game Speed: Normal (Animations may not be as smooth, but EA got this right as the actual NFL speed of the game.)
    Player Min Speed Threshold: 0 (THIS IS INSANELY IMPORTANT. You want the ratings to matter as much as you can, so this will make sure that the slower linebacker will never be able to catch up to the faster wide-out.)

    Penalties

    All at 0

    The game simply plays better without them, because I've discovered along with other slider makers that EA's penalty settings influence gameplay tremendously, so for now I am just disabling them until they are properly dealt with, and I encourage you to do the same. Otherwise Madden will keep creating/forcing penalties to be made, rather than letting them happen by more chance.

    Player/CPU Skill

    Human/CPU

    QB Accuracy: 30
    Pass Blocking: 0
    WR Catching: 50

    Broken Tackles: 0
    Run Blocking: 0
    Fumbles: 10

    Pass Reaction Time: 50
    Interceptions: 30
    Pass Rushing: 0

    Rush Reaction Time: 50
    Block Shedding: 0
    Tackling: 0

    Pass Blocking vs. Pass Rushing
    Broken Tackles vs. Tackling
    Run Blocking vs. Block Shedding

    These are the three matchups that cancel out, and since the goal is to let sliders be as little of an influence on ratings as possible, it is imperative to zero these out. The reaction time sliders should be at 50 because they strike a perfect balance between mind-reader (0) and non-football-player (100). The other 4 sliders I am still working on finding a sweet spot for.

    Punt Power: 50
    Punt Accuracy: 100
    Kickoff Power: 50


    Auto-Subs

    QB Out: 0
    QB In: 5
    RB Out: 85
    RB In: 95
    WR Out: 30

    FB/TE Out: 20
    FB/TE In: 25
    OL Out: 20
    OL In: 25

    DT Out: 80
    DT In: 85
    DE Out: 80
    DE In: 85
    LB Out: 35
    LB In: 40

    I am not quite finished with these yet, but already I am very excited to entertain myself long after the season ends and long before the next Madden is released. Please submit any feedback you have, as there is a chance I could be the only one happy with these, though I don't think many will be disappointed. Enjoy!

      I have not yet but I'm sure since the sliders are pretty equal on both sides that these would work in that setting, as well as for CPU vs. CPU itself.

        A couple slight tweaks have been made to the set, so I hope that anyone who has used these has the most recent set. I'll start posting Versions so people who check back know if there is something that was changed.

          I've also discovered in the threads that the penalty sliders are known to affect gameplay, so I am open to taking any suggestions on that matter, because I am not smart enough to see the direct effect a penalty frequency has on any play outcomes.

              I don't believe it matters because once sliders are adjusted the skill level shows up as "Custom". But I adjusted them from All-Madden just in case.

                I have recently employed the idea that the more sliders you can have at 0, the better. So let me know what you guys think about the penalties/"cancel-out" sliders.

                  I played my first game with these sliders yesterday. They are superb!
                  It was the best game of Madden I have ever played. Everything felt real - almost free! They seem to break all of the game's scripted gameplay. Everything felt like I was controlling it. If they broke my line from a rush it felt like it was my fault - not some crappy game scripting, cheating.

                    that is only true for play now. this year in ccm u must pick a base difficulty then edit from their. so no matter what edits are made, the cpu still plays at a pro level. i suggest figuring that part out for any ccm users

                      Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I haven't really experimented much with connected careers since I've just been focusing on the gameplay you get in play now, but I will look into seeing which difficulty is optimal. But if CPU is at Pro no matter what, User should theoretically also be defaulted to Pro and then have adjusted sliders, so do that for now.
