is it just me, or do some people seem to want to ...

is it just me, or does it seem like alot of players in leagues want to spam stats for players now that the xp factor has come into play? i mean i know people used to spam really good players, but now it seems in online leagues, that people will try to find any excuse to try and spam the stats of players , just so they can get alot of xp for them, instead of just playing football.i mean am i the only one who sees this? surely i cant be.....
    Yup, i said it !

I think you make a good point for the biggest downfall of XP in general. At least in the way it has been implemented.

I don't really have a solution for this problem with it, but I think it was going in a good direction as far as the concept is concerned.

yes i agree, i like the concept much better than players having a predetermined attribute growth. only way i know that it can be "somewhat" controlled is by setting up rules in leagues on players not getting outrageous stats per game. of course some like to cry about that though , cause then they are not geting the outrageous xp they was used too. its just hard to really balance this out it seems. i mean of course there more than a fair share of guys who just play to win , but not by spamming certain players. maybe if they gave commish's the option to maybe set goals to be met by each position and then have a cut off point , like after soo many yards, its would no longer count towards anything.including breaking records, as players get huge xp for that. that is about the only thing i can think of right off hand. i do agree, a player should be able to progress based on how he plays.but not by being spammed. also would love it if they would make the draft classes truely random, like having each draft class , from league to league randomly assign attributes to each player. so that there could not be a draft class sheet anymore . that would really make the scouting aspect much more realistic and fun , as well as challenging.
      Yup, i said it !

        RECORDS WERE MADE TO BROKEN.

like you said ppl were spamming stars before XP. Nothing has changed. If you are going to set limits then ppl will just go to the max limit. If you say 150 yards a game is realistic for a WR then ppl will get right up to that number.

my question is If AP broke the rushing record in your league would say that his user is spamming him?

As a defensive coordinator, so to speak, doesn't this just help you know what your most likely to see? I mean if a guy is just throwing to one WR a ton....then I'm gonna man cover, manual the safety to double/help, and spotlight him on plays that have any LBs in zone.

This is the same with most video games, where a player who keeps spamming the same thing over and over becomes predictable and easy to beat.

People playing online against other players have nobody to blame but themselves if they let their opponent run up a big score.

In my league Matt Ryan threw for 7000 yards! Back to back MVP. The user is one of the best though so give him props.

This is a hard subject. Sometimes a player spams a receiver cause he is the only receiver getting open. I've had a game where Julio Jones had 10 receptions, 250 yards, 5 tds. Now my intention is never to spam any player, I actually despise it, however I also am not one to get sacked because the only open receiver is the guy that already has a ton of catches. I usually have games where I have 7+ receivers with touches, there is that rare occasion though that Julio and Roddy White are my only open targets all game (I generally average about 5 catches 1 td each with them a game seeing as I'm a pass heavy team).

However sometimes you will get that one player who just spams one guy no matter the situation. That is annoying as all hell, especially when he is missing open targets and throwing against double/triple coverage. Offers no challenge what so ever. I hate it.

I know what your talking about, in my league I had a guy throw like 500+ yards and 7 TDs or something to dez bryant when he played the CPU one time.. On the other hand, as ampking said, crazy games does happen by chance too. I had a 300 yard 5 td game with dwayne bowe against a user, just hitting him when he was open. For user games I always just try to hit the open receiver and play efficient offense, while in cpu games I try to hit my receivers weekly goals (usually around 5-7 catches, 75-100 yards and 1 td)

my concern is if you create a coach you dont get the right objectives, ie power run = 350 passing yards 3 passing tds etc.
noone, players and coaches alike, gets credit for the win and imo thats the most important thing.

if the qb throws for 2 tds, 0 ints 215 yards and the run game gets 130 yards and a td, defence gives up 250 yards, has a pick 6 and only 1 td against them then surely thats a great game?

                      not according to xp

yes im aware it could happen from time to time.if it only happend once in a blue moon, i wouldnt think much of it . as like was said before, that can happen. however im talkin about seeing guys do it repeatedly . and for the post above, no you cant always stop it ,as they run plays that are somehow glitching the d's AI to get these stats. not by just playing the game. there is a huge difference. i just think its alittle crazy at what some will do just to try n get tons of xp , because the real issue is , once they get the tons of xp , they can make a player almost unstopable, especially when they are running plays that are sooo extremley unlikely to stop in the first place.i just feel like more needs to be done to limit this type of thing. maybe allow a commish to set a rule where u cant boost an attribute above say 90 until so many others are up to 85 or something. there has to be a balance here.

This is s symptom of a bad game where you can "spam" a players stats without any drawbacks. The AI is incompetent.

This is also another drawback of the stats = progression system. I much preferred the progression = stats system, but I digress.

This is the product of bad coding allowing a game to have "money plays". A player like Megatron is as close as you get to cheese in real life and even he's been completely shut down before (by players like Brent Grimes last season who is almost a half foot shorter).

They could improve the AI of CPU opponents so it plays like an actual football game... Game is too easy even on All madden, the problem is the CPU AI doesnt know how to playcall, gameplan, and they get blown out early.
