Why the Madden Franchise (CC) Needs ANOTHER Reboot.

As an American, I can honestly say that Soccer was not something I enjoyed watching, or playing it in a video game for that matter. I have been mostly a NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL type of guy both watching and for the games.

In the games, I was a fiend for the Association/Franchise/Dynasty/GM Modes. The ability to man your own team and have your games count for something when you played always made me a big fan. I did not necessarily like them in the recent years, however. I remember my favorite NFL Franchise mode was Madden NFL 2006. The players would actually complain to you and were somewhat dynamic which is what I loved. These last few years, however, there is almost no dynamic aspect to any of the franchises... That was until I started playing FIFA 13.

Being in college, I met a bunch of new people and one showed me the FIFA series. I had bought the FIFA 13 game for the main reason of Ultimate Team. I had played UT in NHL and NFL and had enjoyed them thoroughly, so I decided to try the game that pretty much introduced the game mode.

However as the market grew thin and I started to become bored, I looked into the Manager Mode. Manager Mode in FIFA 13 is one of the most dynamic game modes I have ever played. The players all have personalities and will interact with you. The dynamic aspect of each player on the squad is refreshing and exciting. If one has a big match-up coming up, a player on the bench might say "Coach, I feel I should play this upcoming game". Those types of things makes the game mode to me. Another is contract offers as a GM/Manager. In Madden, you are basically the manager of your team forever until said otherwise. In this game, you can get contracts from those bigger clubs and it makes the game interesting when trying to choose a team or a new contract.
But in the most part, the dynamicy of the players is bar none in FIFA. In Madden, I could bench Aaron Rodgers, then cut him, then sign him again with no backlash except maybe salary cap. In this game, players who SHOULD be starting will make sure you know about it.
Madden CC mode does have a lot of positives. The in-season contract negotiations are very well designed... But the offseason is horrid. I remember my first offseason in Madden 13, I tried to sign Mike Wallace and gave him a lowball offer to come to the Dolphins. He came to my team after choosing mine over more money, and the funny thing was was that I was the last team on the list. That just takes away some integrity from the game.
I'd love to hear your thoughts as to how the CC mode could be better and what you would like to see.
For me, the dynamic aspect of players is the biggest thing. What about you?

Individuality of any kind would be nice in Madden. Man they swung and missed on this new CCM big time.

CCM was one big immediate let down to me and I think after time it became a let down for others eventually. They didn't add any thing truly meaningful into the career mode and only took out meaningful things. I didn't care for the twitter at all, the storylines are really only effective during the draft when they talk about the rookies, the XP system really isn't any better than previous progression, practice is done poorly and everything else is just presented slightly different but not actually enhanced or improved.

CCM has ended up being one of the most unnecessary overhauls to the franchise thus far imho, maybe next year can show us why they made this change. I'm still in shock that they rushed this out without it being a significant improvement from past career modes. It really was another case of the teams poor execution.

    Why not add things that matter like;

    -Inactive/active list
-Playbook creation & play creation for CCM
-An actual waiver system for FA like in real NFL football
    -Practice squads
-More authentic game-planning (formation & situational substitutions and etc.)
-Keeping and further improving & adding depth to recruiting assistant coaches and coordinators that can impact your team

there's way more but those would have actually been improvement. I'm just completely baffled they felt this was such a much needed revamp even though hardly anything important was added but much was taken...just...wow.

In otherwords, HC 09 with some more transactions possible and the traditional Madden gameplay?

Yeah, I would go for that

It's funny that you actually think that the manager mode from the FIFA series is great. If you were a soccer fan, you would know a few games from the mid 90's that were much better. However, I agree with what has been said.

I loved Madden 12, because it would let me be the owner/GM and let just build the team and watch them play. I am a horrible player and rather let the CPU battle it out. While there is no reason to bring back that whole team relocating, stadium upgrading thing, it would really be nice to bring back the coaching staff.

I must say that I do like the new scouting system, however. If only schemes would matter and were evenly distributed among players, it would really add to the team building, instead of just signing the best player available. I also do like the draft stories, if there were just more of them. The whole Free Agent phase is messed up, not being able to identify the players skills is just stupid. Still it is better than last years mode, where you had that stupid time limit and could not even negotioate a contract.

CCM is a true EA Tiburon product, half-produced. The game does not need an overhaul, what it needs is to have the current functions fixed and streamlined and then add in more options.

I think CCM or Madden does need another overhaul. CCM is a poorly done RPG Sports mode, and defeats the purpose of being realistic in a game that claims to be true to the NFL.
