Re: overall rating and scheme fit

I think players that fit your play style are far more valuable than someone with star development and don't fit your style. The most obvious example is if you like to run outside and you draft a slow power runner with star development just because of the star development.

My advice for drafting is to find players with the attributes you look for in that position. With good enough production you can upgrade to star development which is relatively cheap compared to upgrading things like elusiveness on the high end, agility in linebackers, and acceleration in Dlineman.

Schem is not importent. Player type is. If i draft a realky good player but he doesnt fit the payer type for my scheme i just change the player type for that position and then he does fit your scheme.

You can see this too in fa, when your scrolling through the players it say scheme fit good or poor. When you see a player that doesnt fit your scheme like hes a tampa2 but your running base4-3 its say hes a good fit cause he has the right player type.
      Hope that makes sence

when i scouted an OL ,i looked for rbk pbk awr

they were all 85+ so i thought he was good player but he turned out to be a 70ish player

so only looking at key stat doesnt guarantees good draft i thoguth now i see dev and ovr

Being 70 overall doesn't matter. My most productive CB and DT are 67 and 63 overall respectively. The offensive line is so ridiculously easy to progress that you can have a lower rated player come in and be a 90+ overall in several years.

From my experience, getting players just based on overall will leave you with guys that will under perform. I'll take a semi-quick, hard-hitter at MLB with a lower overall ANYDAY over someone who is slow and can't hit hard but has a high overall. There are numerous positions where I feel this way (speed and height at WR and CB, strength and acceleration on the oline, etc). I'm just saying the best players available aren't always the ones with the highest overall. A TE I drafted was low 70's coming out, but was 92 once I got his awareness and blocking up to a respectable level in 2 seasons.
