2013 Ufa World Junior Hockey Championship Roster (360)

I have gone thru the process of creating an XBOX 360 roster for NHL 13 for the World Juniors starting tonight and I have to lead with saying that it is FAR from perfect.

The teams I have made are: CANADA, CZECH REPUBLIC, FINLAND, GERMANY, RUSSIA, SWEDEN, SWITZERLAND and USA.

I chose 4 teams from each group. I did this with the idea of creating an EA SPORTS WORLD TOURNAMENT with 8 TEAMS.

    Quick notes:
    • Most teams only have 12 forwards, 6 d's and 2 goalies..so I would recommend turning injuries off for your tournament.

    • The lines are probably pretty close, but I can't make any promises there, you can juggle away once we see the games.
    • I did try to take some time to get some fun details like what players may be wearing the full cage buckets as opposed to the standard required visors or RNH and Huberdeau with the white twigs.
    • I realized pretty quick that I was probably in over my head with all the CAPs for all these kids as I didn't have much experience going into it, but I started to get the hang of it, I think. I mainly used eliteprospects.com for all essentials.
    • I'd like to say its about 95% accurate as far as jersey numbers, birth year, the correct players being active and starting goaltenders go.
    • There are likely some discrepancies with the 3rd and 4th liners for some of the teams with less information as I may have arbitrarily chosen to create the 13th forward on one of those lines or something like that.
    • There are also probably some inaccuracies with skater player types and ratings as there were a lot of created players where all I had were their height, weight, shot, name and birthdate to go along with some stats from when they were kids.
    • Also physically, the players may not look like their real life counterparts because quite frankly I got tired of digging for pics of guys.

Again, its not perfect, but it should hit the spot if you're gettin the WJC itch like many of us do this time of year.

    IMPORTANT:
I have attached the roster file in the original post. I really don't know much about how this works.

I simply used my transfer kit, connected it to my HD and my comp; opened up Xport 360 and dragged and dropped my roster onto my desktop; made an archive with WinRar and posted it on here.

As far as what you all need to do once you d/l it, I honestly dont know. I've always just been able to download rosters and drag and drop them via Xport 360 while connected to my hard-drive with my Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Cable into the correct folder.

There is a lot of good information on this site on how to do this, but I'm sorry but I cannot be of much help in that department.

Can someone confirm this: Is it possible to download this roster file using USBXSTAF Xplorer and ConCept/Modio?

Thanks a lot jatnnanga for your great roster file.. Here's my own roster file which is based to your rosters. All I did is that I created some "national" teams, copied your players and made the jerseys look a like IIHF's.

I only created Finland, Canada, USA, Sweden, Russia and Germany..
Give it a shot. IMO the game gets much more realistic and funnier with these jerseys.

TeeKoo, i'll definitely check these out - I thought about doing the same too cause the national team jerseys in the game are so damn boxy (and hideous may I add).

I noticed some glaring holes in my roster while watching some of the games...most noticeably the absence of Finnish captain Petteri Lindbohm. I guess thats what happens when staying up late and creating 100+ players, you're bound to miss a couple. So for that I am sorry.

I also wanted to say that I chose Germany in place of the Slovaks mainly because of their injuries and the fact that Germany already had multiple players that were in the game, but that is another decision I am already regretting with how well Slovakia played this morning.

Im embarrased to tell but I didn't even noticed that Lindbohm was missing even though I'm finnish myself. I guess your rosters were too accurate even for me

I checked out your jerseys and they are actually quite good. I was impressed, they look pretty lifelike. I def wasn't expecting the teams being renamed tho haha.

The jerseys look good but I think I'm going to stick with the standard international teams because the created teams by default must use a north american sized rink and in Ufa they are playing on the standard, larger international rink that is only available in NHL 13 when using the international teams as a home team.

Yes it might be true, but when you start a World tournament mode in NHL 13, does it automatically change the size of a rink to international?
I'm glad you like what you've seen and thanks again for your roster update. Neverthless, I'm gonna start U20 World tournament in my NHL 13 using a mixture of created teams and national teams, cause I just hate the fat not look-a-like flag jerseys created by EA.

I'll hope one day EA Sports will get that IIHF license, that would be one of the greatist thing in international hockey so far since NHL 2005 which include World Cup Of Hockey and actual jerseys for international teams.

I am on ps3 and am looking to create a WJC roster. i was wondering how these jerseys looked? are they realistic towards the real ones used, more so than the national ones in the game? also how did you do the team name and nick name option?

Well, I can upload some screenshots to EA Sports World to show you how these jerseys look. The naming is not obvious since you can't name them to whatever you want, but I think that's not a problem cause you can use the abbreviation to identify your team name when playing.

F.e. I created Canada and named it to Ottawa Wings and gave it abbreviation of CAN. And If you ask me, the jerseys are looking 100% better than EA's flag jerseys.

Here are the logos I used for each team:

CANADA - Toronto Maple Leafs logo, Home jersey with the white mapleleaf, away jersey with red one.

USA - Columbus Blue Jackets logo
SWEDEN - Old LA kings crown logo.
FINLAND - Old Colorado Avalanche logo.

GERMANY - Old Washington Capitals logo, Home jersey with yellow eagle, away jersey with black eagle.

RUSSIA - Same as Germany, but using a kind of golden color instead of black/yellow.

You can see more specific details about jerseys as soon as I have uploaded some pics to EA Sports World.

I just used jattnanga's U20 WJC rosters he uploaded here. So I don't know much about ratings, hope he will read this thread and guide you a bit to create similiar rosters for PS3

i basically used the players that are already in the game on the other teams as a starting point to see roughly where the ratings are for players under 20.

then i went to eliteprospects.com and looked up the players individually. there i was able to get height, weight, shoots left/right, position and birth year.

i then looked at their stats on the website to get a feel for what type of player they were. a forward with relatively high assists would be a playmaker, a goal scorer would be a sniper. a forward with low stats in both would be a pwf or twf (i used twf for centers and pwf for wingers if they were bigger). the only grinders i made were players that i actually had some information on.

as far as ratings go, it really is a guessing game. i tried to have all drafted players 56 and above for their overall rating, unless they were 5th round or later then i would go a little lower. undrafted, relatively unknown players i made at 52 or lower (really low at like 45 for some of the german and swiss unknowns to make sure that they were noticeably lesser players when on the ice)

as far as the russians go, its a lot of guesswork with the KHL, VHL and MHL players. the russians skate well so i made sure they were all competent skaters and then the goal scorers had higher accuracy ratings and the better defenseman had better checking (stick and body). i unfortunately dont have a spreadsheet, i did on the fly player-by-player.

also the players playing for a true pro team were rated higher than those playing for their minor league affiliates as i assumed they weren't as good (but i had no way of truly knowing).

that probably isn't all that helpful, but once you get going creating players, you start to get a feeling for what the ratings generally are. also at the junior level many of the players are pretty similar as far as their ratings as everyone is bunched up between like 50-58 on the CHL teams so creating the players does have a certain randomness to it, but you'll get a better feel for what the hell is happening the more players you make.

                            hope you find this useful...
