What are people doing in Association? Are you leaving Player Roles and Team Chemistry on? Thanks, I'm just trying to find what most people are using before I start mine.

I use chemistry on, player roles off. I use player roles off because im always the Celtics, so I always have to trade 2 of Lee, Bradley, Green, Terry lol. I see some people leave em on but cheat it some way but if you have/want to cheat it then its kinda pointless to be on hahaha. Either way I also play 7 Min Quarters, and 14 game seasons with Pro Default Sliders. I get close games and I even lose a couple, but its fun and thats what I look for. 14 games because 29 or more I always find myself simulating the last half so 14 is perfect because you play every game. I also have a 1 and done playoffs like football since I went w/ the short 14 game season wouldn't make sense to play more playoff games than reg. season..anyways just my touch on association good luck with yours!

17-25 with the Cavs. Kyrie is averaging 26 points a game but besides him our only other offense is basically Waiters with 16 points a game. Not sure what to do next offseason. Can anyone tell me which of these players are worth while drafting? Nerlens Noel, Shabazz Muhammed, James Mcadoo, Tony Mitchell, Alex Poythress, and Zeller. IDK who to draft was thinking maybe Mcadoo and Noel but my other theory is sign Cousins and draft Shabazz. Also Tony Mitchell just seems really good after scouting. Who to take?

I posted on this topic a few weeks back. I used player roles and team chemistry because I enjoy the extra dynamic it brings to the Association Mode but it all depends on how and why you play the game.

If you are attempting to create as close to a real NBA simulation as possible and do not expect to alter contracts/player rating (which is what I would assume "cheating" is?) then use them. If you care more about playing the game and getting the best guys on your team regardless of realism, then don't.

I used them and enjoyed it. It added an aspect to the GM portion of the game. It is not hard to work around - i.e. actually getting guys that fit the role description or paying a guy a little more/little less but offering different roles on your team. If a guy is upset about his playing time, trade him for a comparable player who doesn't mind the role. You can check on this by looking at his avg. mins per game and see what his mood is like.

My rotation typically looks like this:

            Starters 25-30 min, 6th man 18-25, role 10-15, Bench 4-10

Prospects are wild cards and typically don't complain about much. It is all relative to their talent level but if they are good enough to complain about their role/playing time, odds are they are getting plenty of run so it is moot. i.e. I drafted Zeller at like 12 or 13. He wasn't really thrilled about his role as a prospect but he was getting 20-25 mins a game so he was at 100 moral after a week or two.

In short, determine the premise of your Association and then choose the route which will help you to enjoy the game.

            Good luck

Started an Association with the Thunder, first game was at the Spurs. We were up the whole game, but let things slip away at the end 72-69. I'm starting to love Kevin Martin, who I gave an extension to after the game.

I would go with Poythress because he is an aggressive defender and can score in the paint also. Also has a little 3 point shot, but he's super athletic.

I play on Pro default basicly. I have tweaked the sliders a little to make the CPU better and more consistent, along with more realistic injury sliders etc. I play my friends on HOF default all the time, but the CPU just creams me if I play on HOF. I play at a realistic pace, and also work the ball around to everyone so I've found that playing on Pro really gives me realistic stats, and a fun challenge without me going 82-0 lol.

I am playing an 82 game season too. Nothing else feels real to me, and if it doesn't feel real then I don't stick with it.

                          Intro
In my Bucks association I want to keep and build around Jennings, Ellis, and Ilyasova creating my own big 3. I will develop them and try to put the best pieces around them to win. I will sign Ellis ASAP and after the season I will re-sign Jennings matching any offer he is given.

I like the Jennings and Ellis against the world plot so I don't want to add any more big names or stars, rather good role players who give me some versatility.

                          Trades:
--Milwaukee gives D. Gooden and my 2014 1st to Pheonix for J. Dudley and their 2014 2nd round pick.
*I had to get rid D. Gooden and his contract. Dudley becomes my 6th man giving me a good shooter to come in for L. Mbah a Moute who has no shot.*

                          -- Milwaukee gives S. Dalembert(74) and B. Udrih(68) to Cleveland for A. Varejao(73) and D. Gibson(60).
*Dalembert is a 74 overall and Varejao is a 73, both are similar players but I like Varejeo better, he is more of a banger down low and is very scrappy. Gibson gives us a good pure scorer off the bench.*

                          Roster:
                          PG- B. Jennings 80 (16.8ppg/4reb/8.6ast)
                          SG- M. Ellis 86 (23.5ppg/4reb/7.6ast)
                          SF- L. Mbah a Moute 68 (4ppg/7.4reb/1blk)
                          PF- E Ilyasova 75 (16ppg/5reb)
                          C- A. Varejao 73 (10 ppg/10reb/1.6blk)
                          6- J. Dudley (SF) 75 (11ppg/4reb/1blk)

                          8- D. Gibson (PG) 60 (6.4ppg/4ast)
                          9- M. Dunleavy (SG-SF) 65 (4ppg)
                          10- L. Sanders (PF-C) 65 (1ppg/3reb)
                          11- J. Henson (PF) 62 (2.4 ppg/2reb)
                          12- T. Harris (SF) 67 (1ppg)
                          Res- M. Daniels (SG) 63

Ellis leads the Allstar voting in the East for guards ahead of Wade by only 800 votes, Jennings 7th for the guards in the East. That last win over the Spurs Ellis, Jennings, and Iylasova each had 28 points, this was not intentional I just thought it was cool.

Just finished my first game and beat the Knicks: 119-102

                            The Good

We are a good 4TH quarter team ( 1 game I know still early to tell )

                            Good Rebounding team Overall

Marshon Brooks is a beast when HOT

Solid Defensive team ( can get better tho )

Williams is my go 2 guy when we need a sure basket

                            The Bad

                            We NEED better transition Defense

Bench was HORRIBLE ( except Brooks)

                            Need BETTER defense inside

Brook Lopez only had 8 rebounds ( Was in foul trouble so I guess I can let it slide this game )

                            Perimeter Defense NEEDS work

Still tryna decided between sacramento or Washington. I like both teams because they are young with potential.
Charlotte Orlando and Phoenix are also in the running.

Sac gives me a good group of talent that's lost. Washington gives me a guard with potential needing help
