So the Red Bulls went right ahead and made a statement in the nPower Championship. The bought Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, Steven Caulker from Tottenham, Shane Long from West Brom, and Joe Riley from Bolton, (English Leagues) Jeroen Lumu from Willem II (Dutch) Edgar Andrade from Jaguares de Chippas (Mexico) Ivan Gonzalez from RM Castilla (Spain) and Michael McGlinchey from Central Coast (Australia). I also accepted the New Zeland job and we are in 3rd place in the Asia qualifiers with 4 points. We drew with India and beat South Korea on a goal from McGlinchey. I also have some decent players on my Youth Squad, but Im not spending much money on scouts so its hard to develop quality scouts. In Febuary, we are in 9th right now.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
I just started my second season in the K-League after winning the league championship on penalty kicks against Seoul. Now I've been offered my first international job offers with Finland and New Zealand. I'm stalling on both to see what else comes, but if nothing changes I'll end up picking Finland.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get an offer to manage a different club? Does it matter if I'm managing an international squad? I'm doing fine in the K-League, but I really want to move to a European league soon.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Just started a CM with Portsmouth looking to take them out of Administration and back into the Premier League. It's going to be a rough road considering the small squad + large amount of fixtures + virtually no money to spend. Not only is the squad small but they're also old. My best ST is David Connolly who promptly told me that he is retiring at the end of the year. My 2 other best players are on loan, Scott Allan from West Ham and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing from Peterborough. Both are heading back to their clubs in January.
We don't even have a real LB so we're trying to get Jernande Meade (LB) on load from Arsenal or Aziz Deen-Conteh from Chelsea, both with options to buy. We're hoping that they are both deemed excess at their clubs and they develop into solid players. We might not be able to offer too much in the way of money but playing time should be abundant. In our 3 friendlies we drew 2 (An Australian side and some other club I can't remember) and lost 1 (SK Rapid Wien). We open up with Oldham Athletic and then Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Finally made it to the 1st transfer period in my FC Dallas cm I started when I first got the game. Recently started using sliders on here and got my *** kicked at first on Legendary, losing like 5 straight without scoring a goal. Bumped it down to world class for the time being and am at least competitive now, and have actually won 3 or so in a row.
Only had like $1.5 million to work with, so I decided to go more towards cheaper players to add depth. Added a CDM from Saudi Arabia rated around 67 or so, as well as a couple younger players I'm looking as more of an investment and plan on selling in a year or two for a nice profit. Also added Abwo, who has all 90s in the speed attributes since my team really lacks pace. Only problem with that is I now have 5 LM/RM. The two LM are Shae and Leyva who both have good potential.
I have around $600,000 left and I'm probably going to go after either a LB or a GK. My goalie is Hartman who is rated a 66, worth $0, and is in his mid 30s I think. Any suggestions on a decent GK that fits my budget? I'm also debating on selling Ferreira. He's my top goal scorer, and best player, but at the same time he's in his 30s. He's still worth like $3.6 million, so I could replace him with a slightly less talented young player with potential pretty easily.Fan of....

Venezuela, Ecuador, or Peru.. Which do you think would be most fun for my first international gig. They all have the same goals: qualify for the WC and make the quarter-finals in the SA cup.
I already turned down Finland, New Zealand and India.Comment

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Had a little luck and I think I found the GK I was looking for. I asked Villarreal about Adrián Ortolá Vaño, whose value was like $550,000. They said they would accept an offer around $350,000. He's 20 years old, and rated a 63. I might loan him out for this season, and then he'd probably become my starter in year two. His potential is like 73 or 74 so he'll be an improvement over the aging Hartman soon.
Question for you guys, I know there is the option to have the rich owner take over your club for your team.....but I had a popup saying San Jose had a billionaire take over their team. Should I be worried that they have millions to spend now? Also, is there anywhere to see all of the transfers that have taken place on other teams besides on the sidebar?Fan of....

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Another dumb question. If you get a player during the July transfer period, can you sell them the following January period? Or do I have to wait a full year? Looking to pick up a back-up striker, but I'm not sure if I should get a player on loan or a free agent that I could make some money off of.Fan of....

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Do you still have a majority of the original squad in-tact? I can see that being a challenge. The only reason I've such an easy go of it is because I had a wealthy businessman "buy" the team. It gave me plenty of funds to buy young players, and to build up my youth squad, which is finally producing reserve-ready players. My teams: Cowboys, Knicks, Braves, Arsenal FC, Nittany Lions

Starting a career with AS Monaco. They were bought but a Russian billionaire in real life so used the financial takeover. I have brought in Neymar and Tello that left me with about 6 million to play with. I'm going to just scout players for the rest of year 1 however. I eventually want Monaco to be competing against PSG in another 3-4 years.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
If any of you guys are playing with lower league teams without a ton of cash, I recommend taking a look at this Abwo guy I picked up. He's a RM/LM at 65 overall, but has all 90s for speed. His value is around $500k-$550k in the first year, but it's the last year of his contract and I picked him up for right at $400k. Great guy to have coming off the bench for me. Has even scored a couple of goals.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
Finished year 1 with West Ham, a pretty solid season finishing 8th in the Premier League table. Can't complain there as the board expected us to finish above the relegation zone so we significantly exceeded expectations there. Also, very surprised to see that I qualified for the Europa League despite being in 8th... it must be that as I reached the League Cup Final and the FA Cup Semifinal that one of those teams already qualified for Europe and let us gain entry otherwise. That should be very interesting to see how my depth can hold up when adding in a few games with the Europa schedule to our normal fixture list.
Can't wait to get season 2 underway, looking to take my budget and find a solid CB, CAM/CF, and potentially a ST if I have enough funds. Also maybe another cheap fullback for some depth as we are relatively weak on the outside.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?
I've decided to put my Chesterfield career on hold for a while, lost a bit of interest in it. Haven't played much lately, but I've decided to start a new save with Swansea City. Mainly because I like their style of football and follow them quite a bit in the PL.
My objective from the board was to finish mid table in the league. I didn't have much funds for transfers and I didn't feel that I needed much changes. I got rid of dead wood, loaned out promising youth and I ended up making one purchase which was Canteros from Villareal CF. He was cheap, has great potential and looked like the perfect fit for the club. Everything else pretty much stayed the same and my starting line-up was not changed.
I got started with some great form in the league. Winning comfortably against QPR and West Ham in my first two fixtures. Had a Capital One Cup game against Burton Albion which I dominated with my reserves 5-0, new signing Canteros scored 3 as an attacking midfielder. After this my form dropped quickly, with my defence suddenly letting in a lot of goals. Had two horrible games against Sunderland and Aston Villa respectively, losing the first and JUST winning the one against Villa 4-3. My latest cup game against Leeds went to penalties and was lucky to win there 3-2. Looks like it's more than my defence that I have to improve.
Despite a few problems, I sit 4th in the league with 9 points after 4 games, my personal objective is to at least qualify for the Euro League. I'm sticking to the passing/possession style throughout the season. Have a tough game against Everton next, hoping to stop all the defensive mistakes here. Will continue to update as the season goes on.Comment
