    International Jobs

How long does it take to get an international job offer? I got a message a while ago saying to 2 national teams may be interested in me but have not got any offers from them yet.

It usually doesn't happen for a few months. I've found that a lot of times I don't get offered jobs from the international sides that they mention in that preliminary email, either.

I haven't been offered an international job earlier than my 2nd year. They come knocking at the start of the 2nd season

I got some in my first year from some of the poorer South American teams, one of which I accepted (Ecuador) and ended up resigning a few months later. Just didn't enjoy.

I got the offer for USA early in my first season and struggled through that for about one year before resigning. Then go offered Portugal immediately and have mostly simmed the friendlys waiting for the real competitions

What club were you playing with and how were you looking in the standings at the time you got the US offer?

Took me 5 years and 3 league titles with Liverpool to get a US offer.

I'm waiting on the US offer. I have turned down everything offered to me so far. I hope it happens soon.

My nationality in the game is US. Does that help decide who offers you a job?

Since my nationality is set to US and I have to gotten the offer despite several higher end offers, I would say not at first it doesn't help.

                    Re: International Jobs

took me two seasons in my Celtic cm (moved them to epl) to get the US job. I took over the Venezuela job and nearly got them into the 2014 world cup. whoever had the team before me tanked them pretty bad. i did not take the contract extension the following year.

at this point i decided i would only take jobs from scotland, ireland, or usa. so i spent a year turning everyone down. then i get an email saying that scotland and columbia are on the verge of offering me. Then out of the blue im offered the US job and accepted it.

I had been scouting the US hard for players prior to accepting, and even more since taking the job. In 2018 we won the world cup. we finished 2nd in our group stage behind France. Took out Austria in the first round then faced Brazil in the second round. It was a nail biter, but i was able to win on penalties 2-2 (5-4). We shutout Mexico in the 3rd round 3-0 on our way to the finals.

We faced off against the Dutch in the finals. Which is pretty interesting, because I recruit heavily from the Netherlands. They went up 1-0 in the first half and looked like they were going to close it out. I nailed a late free kick at 75 minutes for the equalizer and then Bradley gets a head on a corner for the winner at 85 minutes. epic stuff.
