    Freethrow Shooting

Needs to be toned down or at least made harder for players that are horrible freethrows shooters, I have seen so many people including myself who have shot upwards to 70 and 80 percent with horrible shooters. People like Dwight Howard, Deandre Jordan, Blake Griffin, Javale McGee, etc. peopke have no problems hitting their freethrows. I think the freethrows thing needs to be turned down for certain players because its ridiculous.

It hasn't made sense for years, the difficulty or success should have nothing to do with the difficulty of your release which is how it is now.

yes, but is this even enabled for online useage? It seems this is more important for online players then offliners, who can switch between the settings as necessary.

They should go back to the moving basketball you had to line up horizontally and vertically, it moved slow for good shooters and impossibly fast for bad shooters.

              It has been a problem with FT shooting the past 2 years;

For offline, CPU and user will shoot a very high percentage even difficulty is on 100

For online, 2K need to have real FT % period!

I don't mean this as any kind of disagreement, but the players mentioned here have decent form on their free throws, and the consensus opinion seems to be that their problem is mental. I think the game does a pretty good job of making it hard to shoot with players that have terrible form/a major hitch in their release, like Shaq or Chuck Hayes. What would be a good, immersive way to simulate mental difficulty for players with a technically decent shot? Controller vibration can be turned off, so it would have to be audiovisual stimulus...maybe a voice saying "don't miss" over and over, or "I can't let my team down again", and/or add irregular screen wobble/blur the player slightly so you can't see the release point clearly? What would stress out the average 2k player enough to make them miss?

                  Re: Freethrow Shooting

I think really bad free throw shooters should have like a 65 free throw percentage, or at least 2K could add an option for that.

I mean, when I see DeAndre Jordan and Dwight Howard, they always make their free throws. Never had seen them miss.

Playing Blake and DeAndre, I've never missed free throw shots using BG and DJ.

So yeah, there should be a tendency of him making free throws or something.

It's way too video gamish. It's too old school aswell.

You can't have all this stuff on the screen at this moment in the game especially when 2K is tryeing hard to make it look as realistic as possible.

They just have to increase the free throw difficulty slider.

Free throws is something I dont get in this game sometimes I get D+ it goes in and with the same thrower I get a B- and it misses it just confuses me.

The better the grade the higher percentage chance the shot goes in. Just because you get D+ doesn't mean it wont go in it just means it's very unlikely to go in. On the other side just because you get a B it doesn't mean it's guaranteed to go in. That's how percentages work.

Talking about online, there is a difference between players with low FT ratings WITH akward release (i.e. biendrins, shaq, reggie evans) and players with low FT with normal release (which usually lead to good FT%). In the first case, props to you if you practiced with the release, in the second case, 2k should modify something

I think FT shooting in 2K13 is the best it's been in awhile because of the shorter windows to get perfect releases. The previous 2K games, people could easily master players shot after like two attempts at the FT line but this year the window is much shorter, so it's a lot more difficult.

I do agree though, you should miss more often when you are getting slightly late, slightly early etc. Especially with players like D12 and Deandre Jordan.
