The most complete and fun Madden, which this gen has come closest?
I've been playing a lot of 10 and 11 today just because I got so fed up with 13. I got to say 11 or 10 1/2 as lots of OS users depict it is a very good game with the right sliders. I'm using Verzus's by the way. There is just something about 10 and 11 that feels fresh and right. I keep wanting to play it. 12 is also very good. But I grew tired of it. If only EA would keep certain things and expand on them, rather than try to make waves every iteration then perhaps we would get the most complete Madden. But as it stands, I have to say 10 1/2 has come the closest to the most complete and fun.

IMHO it was something like Madden 2002 (don't recall exactly) on PC. Before this whole 'hey we've got to ONLY crank up the graphics for the consoles' bullshame started..
You had the ability to create your own players, playbooks and even teams and stadiums.

There also was another version out (don't recall either the exact version) where you REALLY had some franchise experience (moving teams to other cities, hiring your own coaching staff, etc). I think this all was before the whole Superstar-Crap.. -
Re: The most complete and fun Madden, which this gen has come closest?
I will just rank the cg games I played
M10- The game with the most depth+ very competitively complete+ interesting
M08-The most competitively complete and most fun game this gen
M12- This is Madden 11 but with less competitive completeness...The only reason it is higher is because the game was less stale to play on a daily basis
M11- This game was stale as hell but honestly (looking back on it) this was the 2nd best game when it comes to competitive completeness. What messed this game up was that it was stale because every1 ran the same offense and defense
M13- All around mess lol jk...I just cant describe this game yet.
M09- More arcade than M08, horrible competitive completeness, stale gameplay/graphics,Comment

I had the most fun with the Madden 09 collector's edition...
I think the total package with all of the features and best gameplay was Madden 10.
I rate Madden 13 3rd on the list in terms of fun factor...but it seemed to be the most incomplete Madden since Madden 07 (on PS3) with all the bugs.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

XB1 (Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2)
Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)Comment

The whole "Superstar-Crap" was added in Madden 06.. you could move teams to other cities up until Madden 10.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

I don't see how it's not M13, unless HC09 is counted as Mestevo mentioned.
The last PS2-era Madden game, M07, and also last year's M12, probably comes the closest after that. For me, anyway.
I never saw the appeal of Owner mode, beyond assistant coaches, but the way coordinators were implemented in those games was such an afterthought.Comment

Re: The most complete and fun Madden, which this gen has come closest?
Madden 06 for PS2, the first Madden to have individual press/off coverage option and "shading" left or right.
I am enjoying Madden 13, but no custom playbooks in any mode worth playing is aggravating me to no end. Well that and how lopsided the gameplay is in terms of Offense vs Defense in hum v hum games.Comment

For me the answer is 13 and it is not all that close in my opinion.Comment

Re: The most complete and fun Madden, which this gen has come closest?
I probably had the most fun and enjoyed 12 the most, I thought 12 was amazing. I also played the hell out of 07 on the PS2.
And I don't think 13 is that bad, I like the direction it's going. Just needs CCM polished out and improve the infinity engine.
All in all though I think 12 is my favorite madden I've ever owned(I've owned all of them from 03-13, besides 11 I skipped it.)Comment

Re: The most complete and fun Madden, which this gen has come closest?
Madden 05 was pretty great, good enough that I still go back to play it every now and then. Also I had fun with Madden 09 and never experienced the bugs that everyone else did. I hated Madden 11 because of the Robo-throwing the QB's did (when you were about to get a sure sack) as well as because of how terrible the O-Line interactions were and such. Madden 12 was ok... Honestly Ive enjoyed Madden 13, the AI is stupid as hell, but at least it shows that the madden team is willing to try something different than they have been doing since at least Madden 05...Comment
