Hrm...Well THAT'S a bit unsettling to read.
I'm still high on Marrone though but seems like the Bills weren't as exhaustive in their search as one would like to believe.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread
I'm going with "much ado about nothing"
The Bills front office half asses everything, so why should this have been any different?
At least they picked the right guy this time...
I personally wouldn't have risked ANY possibility of losing this guy (to another team or just having him capitulate himself BACK to SYR) by dragging it out...
Lots of successful NFL folks enthusiastic about this guy, so this writer's opinion doesn't get anywhere near "equal weight" with me...
Chip Kelly wasn't coming to Buffalo and other than Lovie (and Trestman) none of the other options appealed to me AT ALL...
Reminds me of some stuff I read in TB last year re: Schiano hire...Comment

Incompetent front office accidentally makes a competent move? Intriguing.

Erie county finally approves the lease agreement.
That is pretty neat. I just was wondering because it changed again and we are such a close group and all. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

I've heard some reports that the jets are interested in trading revis. What do you guys think of the bills trying to go and get him with us having his former defensive coordinator.S.O.S Crew:

LIKE!
Revis seems kind of taken aback by the possibility, so having a shut down corner play in his former division with a (an even bigger?) chip on his shoulder is a good thing...
Brings some more "swagger" to D in need of "Swagger Reboot"...
Might help keep Byrd, due to second consecutive year of acting like one of the contenders in FA period...Comment

My only question would be what is the asking price because you know it's going to be higher trading him within the division. And can we afford to give up what they want to get him. They obviously are looking for a franchise qb which we don't have so what else could they be looking for? Stevie seems like he would have to be included in the deal which I don't think is a good move.S.O.S Crew:

Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread
The Jets would probably ask for Stevie and some of our draft picks or just ask for our 1st round pick so it's a very risky proposition. I would be hesitant to make any kind of deal just for the fact that while Revis is a great talent the man keeps reneging on his contracts every couple years and cries for more money.
It's almost as if he can never be satisfied and that's a headache almost not worth taking on.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If you look at the Palmer trade, I'd suppose the Bills would have to give up a 1 this year and a 2 for next...
As far as Revis being a money driven complainer?
That's EXACTLY why the Jets are justifying the deal, so I imagine Revis will go "model citizen" for at least a couple years at his next stop to change that perception...
By then, he's prob an "older and wiser" vet and that HOPEFULLY goes away...
Since the Bills would be passing on T'eo to trade for Revis and could still get Nassib?

Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread
I like Revis as a talent, however I do not want his baggage. The price to acquire Revis would be high. The thing is, Revis would be entirely unlikely to resign. Even if he would, the asking price would be insane. The Bills cannot afford to take on another huge contract.
We have Mario Williams, and will likely have Jairus Byrd on a large deal if he re-signs. Do the Bills even have the cap space for such a move? Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread
I see what you're saying but I just don't trust Revis to be a good "model citizen". I may have over-exaggerated on the price but if they DO get Revis and it means no Te'o yet they still get Nassib I'd probably lean in favor of it but with HUGE reservations.NOBODY is worth a (name) player PLUS top picks...

I dunno....The Bills seem to be in a gambling mood as an organization right now and this would be a big gamble that could really pay off or blow up in their faces. I don't know if the regime wants to do that.
Needless to say, interesting times in Orchard Park these days.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread
According to this both Buffalo and New England have expressed their interest and the Jets have said "Aw Hell Na." The Jets are asking for a first and second round pick will not trade to a division rival.
Unless the Jets back off their demands, they won't get a thing for him. I cannot imagine a team offering a first and second for a guy they will only have for one year. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.
