Like ps2, you can only change a player's position if he's a rookie by overwriting an existing rookie in a different position.

However, if you download Finn's 2k5 editor, you will then be able to change any player's position. You'll need an Action Replay in order to transfer files from your PC to your Xbox and vice versa.
