I would absolutely love it if the Braves snuck in and got Wilson. That would be a bullpen GMs dream about.

Wherever he goes, he's going to want to be the closer. So that being said, would you rather have Wilson or Kimbrel?

The Tigers adressed that question today about Wilson. He wants to be a closer and the Tigers (and everybody else) aren't going to make that committment to him right now

Definitely not happening on q minor league deal..

Would love for Wilson too sign in Cleveland, then maybe when he is healthy we could deal Perez.

Of course Kimbrel. That's not even a question. I was just throwing around an idea haha.

That would suck to lose your team to Washington, watch them slowly become contenders, and then get the Marlins as a replacement lol

Ehh, you'll be getting the Sonics back soon enough. Last I heard that deal with the Kings moving to Seattle was progressing nicely. Not that the Kings are anywhere near as talented as the Thunder, but at least basketball will be back in Seattle.

But I digress way off topic

Eh, the way it's looking it's more likely they'd get the Rays.

Either way, both Florida teams are screwed in one way or another. The Marlins have the gong show that is Jeffrey Loria and the Rays are actually a very well run organization but only draws flies. (though I suspect with a real stadium they'd get better attendance)

Not to be to stereotypical, Florida does have the highest population percentage of elderly (60+) people than any other state. In an article I read it says that they don't like to go out to a ballpark (especially of Tropicana's magnitude of suckiness) as much as they did when they were "younger". That, and the horrid park the Rays play in, may all contribute to low attendance ratings. As for the Marlins, they just always sucked... (except 2003)

The Marlins have 2 WS titles in their history (97 and 03), they usually suck in between them...but saying they've always sucked is a bit short sighted don't ya think? The problem with Miami (Florida, whatever you want to call them) is that they would win and then have a firesale of their talent. And then win some more, and firesale their talent again. Ownership is in it just to make money nothing more, nothing less.

I forgot about that win in '97. But, I know VERY well of "Florami" firesales **cough**Lowell/Beckett**cough**. But, I don't think they're THAT bad of a team, but like you said, they firesale too much. They should be contenders in a few years with the 'spects they got now. But they might just do it all over again.

They could always negotiate a deal to terminate the lease.

St. Petersburg is screwing them royally, though. They refuse to approve a new stadium and won't let the team look for any possible sites in Tampa or anywhere outside of St. Pete.
