Well you did only score 36 goals with him last year.

He's used to getting about triple that.

In my Le Havre CM, my young stud, Frances Goncalves, a 20 year old Youth Squad product had just reached an 81 overall.

He requested a transfer and before I could even offer anything else, He was gone to Barcelona for $50 million.

I feel for you sir, I feel for you....

The winners of the Capital One Cup (League Cup) and FA Cup in England get automatic bids into the Euro League, however, if they already have a place in the Euro League/Champions League then the runners up get that place. In my case, Manchester City beat me in the League Cup final, but as they already have a Champions League place, I get their spot but have to win a 2-leg qualifier to get into the Euro League.

It's similar to how Bradford City could get a Euro League bid despite being in nPower League 2 due to them being in the finals of the League Cup, and if they win it they will get that bid.

A runner-up in the League Cup can NOT get a Europa League spot in the real world. FA Cup yes, League Cup no. League Cup you have to win. A mistake in the game.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Hm I made a long post about season two of my Santos game but got some message about mods having to approve it, that was days ago.

            Anyway cliffs:

            - Won the league by 20 points
            - Andre/Robinho lead the league in goals
            - Rejected all offers for Lucas Piazon and Raphael
            - Forced to sell Dede (85 OVR) to Real Madrid for 20 million
            - Replaced Dede with Luiz Eduardo
            - Bought Lorenzo Insigne (Italian but awesome attributes) to replace Robinho who is off contract at the end of the season
            - Sold Iago Aspas (who actually became quite good) to At. Mineiro

I have probably too many good young players in my team, I'm trying to loan them out but no one is biting. Probably 5-6 guys with 85-92 potential, it's hard getting them all game time so I'm not really buying anyone. Insigne was just a signing I made to keep myself interested in the game, I'll probably shift Robinho to the left wing or something.

Also if anyone wants a young/big/agile poacher you could do a lot worse than Andre. He's developed into an 82 OVR for me and feels a lot like Demba Ba in game. He's brilliant.

I bought that Insigne guy in my Arsenal save to use as a super-sub and I scored a second half hat trick with him on his debut.

                I got lucky!

My budget is now at 61M. Not bad. Plus, I'll be selling someone for roughly another 22M. This is great. I'll finally be able to buy quality players, haha.

                  That's great!

I'm going to try it again when I get to level 26, even though I took a job offer from Liverpool and won't need it as much.

Question: What part of the year did you buy it? During a transfer period?

No, I bought it in early April. (I play in the MLS and I'm not sure if the EPL has the same transfer periods as the MLS)

I have my eyes set on some big names with my new found cash. Balotelli, Mackay-Steven, Hoilett, some of those guys worth 20+ million.

He's a bit ridiculous, I've scored 5 in 2 games with him so far and he's already gone from 79>80.

First, if you guys are talking about Lorenzo Insigne, he's a beast, for real(bought him in FM once)

Second, I started out at Nottingham Forest, and just accepted a transfer to Arsenal. Unfortunately, during the transfer, it appears as though my number has changed from my normal 88 to 13, and no matter how many times I "edit my pro" it doesn't stick with 88, Am I stuck being #13 at Arsenal?

PES transfer here, the ML was just boring even though fun on pitch.

I started with Orion's Sliders with a few adjustments(10 min halfs, WC level, Semi shot assist) to help me get used to game first. I am Dempsey fan so went with Spurs, strict board. Sold off over 30's for the most part, and strengthen the back line a bit. Also brought in Donovan, another favorite. Expectations are very high for all competitions, so should be difficult. Started BPL with a 0-0 draw at Newcastle, Wigan up next.

                          We shall see.

Well I read this about the League Cup: The winners qualify for the UEFA Europa League, unless they have qualified for the Champions League through their league position, in which case the Europa League berth goes to the highest-placed team from the Premier League not already qualified for Europe.

So you're right about the winners being the only one getting the bid, but I finished 8th in the Premier League so maybe somehow I was the next in line for the bid anyways? Otherwise, you are correct and the game just messed it up, or they put it in that way to just make it easier to work in.

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

I started a CM with Getafe CF with the intention of building the club into a La Liga powerhouse after a few seasons. I have only made one addition through the transfer window which was 25 year old Real Madrid striker Jose Callejon at 11 million dollars. After getting rid of some dead-weight I sent some of my younger players who at the moment would not find a place on the pitch for my squad out on season loans.

First La Liga match was against a very inspired Sevilla FC side that jumped out to a quick 2-0 advantage. At halftime, we found ourselves down 3-1 as the defense had been a complete letdown through the first 45'. My keeper seemed lost between the pipes, not recording a single save! The second half started with a bang as new addition Callejon netted his second goal of the match. In the 72' Callejon volleyed the equalizing goal past the keeper off a rebound, notching a hat trick in his first match with Getafe. Finally, to complete the historic comeback, in the 87' I took a corner that was punched by the keeper then volleyed back into the 18 and headed into the left corner giving my squad their first lead of the match, 4-3...which we held to the final whistle.

This match really showed that I need to take a serious look into my defensive depth after the atrocious first half we had. We have Real Madrid coming up after our next match vs RC Deportivo and we stand no chance if we can't tighten on the back end. Any suggestions on strengthen my defense? Formation change maybe? Currently running a 4-4-1-1. Thanks for the assistance!
