To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
Why? I really don't understand why so many do this online. As if it's setting the game sliders or something lol. Cheesers are pathetic.Tags: None -

I really don't see the point behind bumping your coaching profile for a single online game

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
Well...I do it every game because if I am going to PLAY, I want to play my way.
I'd like to know how it is "cheesing"?
And how do you know the person you are playing is setting them all to 100???
I actually turn most of mine DOWN.
Offensive Tempo gets turned way down for me, so my players don't run around like chickens with their heads cut off or cut as soon as I try to pass them the ball....generally I set it to 10 or less.
I set Def Pressure to between 60-80 depending on what team I am playing....Help Defense gets turned way down....depending on how high pressure is and how many 3-pt shooters my opponent has.
Fast break is next....and I turn that way down as well. Most games I play with it at 0....having it turned way up just gets you killed on the offensive glass....most fastbreaks come off of turnovers anyway...and setting the Fast Break to a high number doesn't even really have an effect on how players react after a turnover.
Crash Boards is one I will play around with. It depends on what team I have....if I have a PF who is a glass eater...then it will go up to 80 to 100....if I am playing with 1 big and a stretch 4...then it will be 30-50.
If the person I am playing plays like a crazed fast breaking maniac, then I will set it even lower.
Run Plays and Double Teams get set to 0....because if I am going to run a play or call for a double team, I am going to do it manually.
I know there are cheesers and idiots who just jack them all up or down....but assuming that EVERYONE is doing that is pretty foolish.Comment

Well that I can respect but I know when people literally bump everything to 100 they play like a cheeser. Just something that bothers me when I'm playing online quick games.Comment

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
I hear ya...I know most people just jack them all up. And then play like idiots....I've played against them too.
But I try not to jump to conclusions, because sometimes they just like to set things how they like...BUT...most of the time its a cheeser.
The thing is they can make a big difference. Especially defensively when trying to defend the 3.
The real question is why 2K can't let us set these BEFORE the game...or just give us a custom playbook option. Seriously, why is this so hard? NCAA 13 has figured it out and those playbooks are ALOT bigger than the basketball playbooks in 2K.Last edited by LoudMouthHoops; 02-05-2013, 10:02 AM.Comment

I turn about 4 of them DOWN. Then turn zone up to 100. Does wonders.
I don't want CPU defense doing anything for me except staying in a zone, why ? because they always over help or rotate slow.Last edited by Thunder Storm; 02-05-2013, 12:13 PM.2K teams : Rockets,Thunder

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
While I don't think you have to do it to win, I don't consider adjusting this cheesing as much as I used to.
However, it's got a cheesy feel to it. My suggestion is for people to limit changes to these only during timeouts and only to the ones in timeout.
Either way, you have got to adjust to what they are doing. They can just as easily adjust most of them during a timeout anyway - when you don't hear click click click lol.For MyNBA, MyLeague & MyGM content, follow Coach2K on X by clicking here.

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
its only cheesy if the person you're playing is cheesy. a lot of people set their coaching profiles to go with their play style and to also better matchup to the style of the team they are facing. this is not cheesy, its strategy.Comment

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
Its not cheese, but it does piss me off.. I limit my adjustments stricly to whats available in timeouts. Its not the users fault but the failt of 2k for not allowing us to set these settings pregame (especially in myteam mode)
How hard could it be for us to be able to pre save these settings and quickly swap in game on the dpad to improve the flow of the game very much like "quick custom tactics" in fifaComment

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
As you can tell people judge your play by going in and adjusting sliders before a game. This prevents them from doing that.
I always like it when guys go in and tell me their defense as well by telling me who their are going to play tight etc.
Personally I wish between quarters there was a timeout instead of having like two seconds to sub etc.For MyNBA, MyLeague & MyGM content, follow Coach2K on X by clicking here.

Re: To the people that bump their coaching profiles all the way
I know who OP is refering to. I haven't played many quick matches especially on 2K13 but I have played some on 2K12 and when you heard the sound of the sliders going all the way up you knew it was gona be cheese. I'am guessing they put fastbreaks and crash boards all the way or something that doesn't make sense.
I don't think OP has anything against people setting up the coach profile before the game but when you hear thoses long and heavy sounds lol, you know what the game will be about. And yeah from my experience most cheesers do it.Comment
