    Career ending injury

Last night I was playing my CCM and my starting WR Dixon suffered a fractured vertebra and during the game it said it was career ending. When I went to the team injuries after the game it said his injury length was 61 weeks. This is my first career ending injury I've seen so, what happens? Does he retire at the end of the season or will he come back after 61 weeks?

advance a week and see if it goes down to 60 weeks. If it doesnt, I would say his career is over.

the weeks may reduce as you advance each week...but at start of the next season, it'll go back to its original number. unfortunately, you'll just have to cut him, because his career is done. This happened to Hakeem Nicks in one of my online CCMs. Broken Vertebrae...it said he was out 32 weeks, when he first got the injury in season one...but when we got to season 2, the counter reset and it said he was out 32 weeks again. So, the owner that had him just had to cut him, because he could no longer be used.

Will it let you? I've had a few players get injured and it won't let me cut them. This is especially frustrating when it happens during the preseason to a player you're using just to keep your superior players from getting hurt.

I play with injuries turned up and at the end of the last preseason I had to put two scrubs on IR because it wouldn't let me release them and their injuries were just long enough that I couldn't just wait it out. I needed the roster space, so IR was my only option.

Well, fortunately for me his contract is up and I hadn't resigned him yet. I guess I'll be letting him go at seasons end then.

There is a glitch with this. I had a broken vertebra injury that resulted in "61 Week" injury. However, that number never went down.

I expected my player to retire in the off-season. He did not.

I tried to cut him. It wouldn't let me.

So I put him on IR and waited a season.

Next offseason... Same thing. So I put him on the trade block. Got a bunch of offers for him.

Traded him for a 2nd. Now he sits on IR on some CPU's team. Very realistic....

My WR is still sitting on the Jags roster with a 43 week injury.

It's pretty dumb that they don't retire at seasons end. I just finished up the off-season last night and, sure enough a team signed him. Leave to EA to totally drop the ball on something like this.

lol. at least he got signed. poor roddy white. guy cant catch a break with this roster change.

Im going to go back and see if any of the other roster saves actually hold onto players or something. or if the cap off will change the chances. its just beyond annoying seeing randall cobb, andrew luck, robert griffin, alfred morris, and every other key rookie who produced for their team sitting on the darn FA wire.

seems like the career ending injury being bugged shouldnt be shocking to anyone at this point. so much is just broken with this game. I mean really, did we need position by position schemes that change overall with a system that already has a messed up ratings system? just flawed thought there.

I have player in my roster that is marked injured in the CC rosteroverview but when I go to my teams injurylist it says "none". The player got injured last season (even though he never went to my teams injurylist) and I am now in week2 of the new season.

I can not release this player, can not put him on IR nor do I get any informations about the injury except the injury sign on his playercard. I thought about to trade him to another human controlled team and then back again to see if the injurysign may disappear.

Any hints would be welcome, thx!

you can cut a player who is injured.

Week 1 of pre season sign enough players off free agency (even if its **** rookies left over on basic salary) so that your total players is well above 53.

Then at week 4 of pre season it will ask you to cut players again down to 53 like season 1 and this is when you do it.

DO NOT IR them in pre season as it will then stop you from cutting them

OK, thanks for the advise. As I play in an online league I think it will be tricky to cut a player this way, though I may give it a try in the next offseason.

We had Dameriyus Thomas have a vertebrea injury that the weeks never went down..he was on Broncos till his contract was up...a new team bid on him in FA not knowing the injury..still had injury when he got him so he dropped him and took the cap hit...now what happens? He shows up on Broncos ( cpu controlled team) and is playing? Seems like another glitch
