With DREAM pretty much closing, PRIDE return?

If anyone has been following the fiasco that is DREAM it's pretty much safe to say that DREAM is over. Do you think Dana White and Zuffa would ever end up bring PRIDE back considering how much American fans now acknowledge it's greatness?

As much as I hope for it, I feel like they would rather just have occasional UFC event in Japan. Which to me really sucks. I loved the ring, the rules, at the 10 minute rounds. PRIDE was just so special...

Personally, I don't think Pride will ever return for safety reasons.

Never. Zuffa's brand is the UFC. They want MMA to be synonymous with the UFC. By reintroducing another brand, that just causes confusion and potentially damages the brand. Thats the reason the UFC didnt even acknowledge Pride when they went to Japan last year.

They could run a Japan UFC league, but they probably won't. Same thing they could have done with SF, create a feeder league, get new names without having them in the UFC. Something else will pop up in Japan.

I could've sworn a couple of months after Zuffa bought Pride, Dana said something along the lines that they tried to get a TV/PPV deal in Japan but "They" did want us over there.

Pride will never return and the powers that be in Japan sure in hell don't want anything associated with Dana White ran in Japan.

Was DREAM doing anything than the 1 card at the end of the year? I'm sure some other organization will come up and put a few cards on.

The UFC has missed out creating feeder leagues where they own the contracts and can move guys up. They could also control the matchups to make sure they fight good talent before giving them a shot in the UFC.

The UFC isnt interested in funding a feeder league and I can understand why. One, the UFC doesnt struggle to attract talent. They dont struggle signing fighters from smaller leagues like Legacy Fighting or MXC in Canada or Bamma in the UK. Those organizations are willing to serve as feeder leagues.

Two, when you have smaller leagues that are willing to supply talent, why would you finance a feeder league on your own. Most feeder leagues lose money.

Nope just the new years card. From what I understand they're pretty much done.

Leave PRIDE as it was. As much as I loved/love it, I'd rather not see it get tarnished by whatever Dana would do to it.
