Out of the two, who would you rather have to build around?"Sports is human life in microcosm."

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
Well he is still young and injuries can happen right away. It is Rose's first major injury at 23 years old and we don't know what will happen on Kyrie's future.
-- My opinion
If Rose gets back fully recovered - faster, wiser, stronger - as advertised I will definitely pick him. And yeah I hope Kyrie will not go through the same fate.
They are both exciting to watch.Comment

Kyrie.
There's only one player I'd take right now instead of kyrie accounting for age, talent, contract and what not, or build a franchise around, that would be durant.

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
If Rose worked on his jumper during rehab, I'd still take Rose.
But Irving is the better passer IMO.Comment

A tough one, but the few years of experience and documented progression has me leaning Rose. Kyrie seemingly has the same ceiling as Rose, which is apparently none, but the next two years will provide greater insight. At this point I'd take Rose on account of his accomplishments. Kyrie is making a helluva name for himself, though. A great question.Comment

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
After 2 seasons in each of their careers, Irving is actually the better guy.
Per 36 min stats:
.466FG%,.425 3pt%,.848FT%,3.7RPG,5.7APG,1.7SPG,3.3TO,2.7FPG,23.9PPG
.489FG%,.267 3pt%,.766FT%,3.7RPG,5.9APG,.7SPG,2.7TO,1.2FPG,20.3PPG
I know there's other determinants in comparing players, but Rose in his 2nd year was on a .500 team, while Irving is on a .300 team, yet Irving is still doing as good as he is.Comment

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
I'm going to choose the guy who has already won an MVP award.
I don't care if he's coming back from an apparent "Career Changing Injury." He'll still be phenomenal, he'll still be the playmaker that we know him as. We saw with Adrian Peterson that athletes who've had major knee injuries can come back even better than they were before. In Rose's case, that is downright scary.
As for Kyrie, he's a great player. However, he partly benefits from being the go-to-guy on a bad team. I mean there's literally nobody else on the Cavs team who can score consistently, so I feel his numbers get inflated a bit. Still a Top 5 Point Guard for me though.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
How is it inflated? He's getting his numbers on great efficiency. Once his teammates start getting some respect from opposing defenses, I can't even begin to imagine how much his efficiency will improve. 58.2% at the rim, 48.6% from 10-15 feet, 48% from 16-23 feet. Even his "Clutch" numbers are extremely efficient, especially for teams now doubling and trapping him.Comment

Re: Kyrie or D-Rose?
I don't really get the argument that being on a bad team helps him. If he was a high volume scorer with a poor FG percentage then I would get what you're saying, but he is very efficient. Once they get another very good scorer whether Dipn develops into it or it comes from draft/another team, he will become even more efficient.I'm going to choose the guy who has already won an MVP award.

That said, I would take Kyrie. Too many questions with Rose right now to take him over Kyrie.Comment
