    Bought Here Comes The Pain

I bought HCTP yesterday and what a great decision it was. Highly recommend anyone that has a ps2 to go buy it or dust it off if you already have the game.

I need to buy that, as well as Fire Pro Wrestling Returns, SD vs. RAW 06 and Shut Your Mouth.

If you buy used off of GameStop, do they come in the original box?

Mine just came in a sleeve type thing. HCTP's gameplay is great bc every move looks and feels impactful. I wish WWE 13 was like this so bad.

Why were the animations so much better in those games? Like UM said, everything looked so much more impactful. The guys hardly react now, and they are so damn stiff. The animation of a guy hitting the ropes in 12 and 13 is just putrid.

          I need to buy a PS2 again.

Or even just get a PS3 so I can enjoy Uncharted and God of War.

I just wish Xbox had HCTP, SYM, SVR, and SVR '06

I have an old ps3 the one with backwards compatibility and I bought here comes the pain when I went to L.A at Gamestop. My favorite match in that game that I wish they brought back would be Slobber Knocker. I think if they bring back slobber knocker but add like 2 players. I think it would be alot of fun for people who want to play with their friends. And You would get some random tag teams like. Del Rio and Kofi, or Miz and swagger. jericho cm punk. I feel that's a game mode that has been missing that I would welcome back.

everything else aside enjoy your game.

I loved Shut Your Mouth and Here comes the Pain. I think those are two of the better games that Yukes has made. Here comes the pain had good gameplay, great roster, large number of matches, and a great season mode. I still play Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain from time to time.

Man, I really wish they would go back to the button mash for the pin system as well...makes things so much more exciting. Also HCTP has 2 counts so that also makes things more exciting.

All joking aside though, they did so many things great with HCTP and im playing this game way more than 13. I just cant get over how much better the gameplay is. I didnt have to let the cpu beat me and im not even playing on Legend difficulty. I played Lesnar 4 times in a row with Shawn Michaels and lost all 4.

Having way too much fun and wondering why the hell THQ decided to go away with the gameplay system. Soon I will comprise a list of things HCTP does better than 13 just for the hell of it.

So I bought 08 today for PS3 and it may just be my taste, but I feel like this game is better than 13. I should clarify, I mean better gameplay. The wrestlers movement is smoother, the animations are smooth and not clunky, and for some reason when a wrestler hits the mat it sounds awesome lol. It definitely lacks the polish of 13 its not a shiny game. But at least there are 2 counts!

Is there a decent Story Mode in that game? I never played 08.

Of older Smackdown games, I was a huge fan of Smackdown 2: Know Your Role and Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth, personally.

Re: Bought Here Comes The Pain

                          Reasons why HCTP is better

-The movesets are incredibly detailed. Playing as the Rock is so much fun with his signature punches and ddt's and stuff. Just incredible.

-The gameplay is top notch. The reversals all flow into one another, moves flow into one another. Also the impact of every move is so much better than 13. In HCTP you can really hear and feel the impact of a move, while in 13 the moves all feel extremely light. I lose a ton of matches in HCTP as well- WITHOUT having to use any house rules. As I type this, I keep asking myself why the hell THQ ever got away from this gameplay system. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

-The roster is probably the best in a WWE video game

                          -Season mode is pretty cool

                          Why WWE 13 is better

                          -Graphics

                          -It has CM Punk

                          -It has commentary

                          -Customization

Just think if 13 had HCTP's strengths. I dont think it would move out of my console all year with the amount of things you can do with it. 13 would be better if it was a little harder; always having to use house rules is such a bummer. It's really refreshing to play HCTP and get a true challenge from the CPU, but it is also equally as frustrating knowing we should have had that for 13.

No sliders back then, either, which makes your statement even stronger.

The weight detection system was awesome, too.
