    Women In Pro Sports

With Danica Patrick being in the spotlight this week, she's had me thinking
which of the Big Three in pro team sports in America are we most likely
to see first, a woman playing in the NFL, MLB, or NBA.
My apologies to soccer & hockey for excluding you

      I hope not.

Imagine the reaction the first time she gets Ran into by someone overanxious trying to block the kick.

If she was Kicking Off, she'd have to be a part of the Kick Return coverage... and I don't think that's a good idea with 250+ lb men running that fast.

I'm not saying it's going to be a 5'2 110 pound woman doing it, but someone the size of many current NFL kickers. The chick who tried out for LSU last year was 6' and 190 pounds. People are only going to freak out when she gets hit because it's a chick, not because of her size.

Field Goal kicker as in no risk of getting killed on kickoffs.

She'd have to be a pretty amazing Field Goal kicker then, as the team would need another roster spot just for a special Kick Off specialist, sometimes the punter can Kick off but still.

John Kasay did that for the Panthers. He did not kick off.

None is the logical answer, but if I had to pick kicker would be the only one slightly possible. The least likely would be point guard in the NBA.

How 'bout a situational lefty middle reliever, who throws a knuckleball?

Yea, I forgot all about her but I was going to say goalie in the NHL or soccer but then remembered the OP left the two sports off his list for whatever reason.
