-also...OVERALL MEANS NOTHING...so don't let that bother you. The players and teams play right regardless.

Important points about the schedule: For some reason teams that play no games (0-0) are considered .500 teams and we ran into an issue where at least 4 teams were making the playoffs that shouldn't have. (i.e Heat, Grizzlies, etc) The only fix we could figure out was by giving those teams some games to play so they would lose and therefore drop down in the standings. When simming seasons we are ending up with 1 or 2 of these "non"teams making it. Just consider the teams playing them in the first round getting a bye..lol. We are still brainstorming a fix for this and are open to suggestions.

Just a few words about our background.. Back in our middle school days we used to play an NBA stat engine game for the Commodore 64 cleverly called "NBA" by Avalon Hill. The inspiration for our Class of 90 super roster was this game as it had 20 great teams. Shortly after I bought the "1987 season disk". Needless to say, we are more familiar with this season than any other.

The 1986-87 NBA season is arguably the best season of the 80’s, and maybe even in NBA history. You still have old school guys such as Erving, Jabbar, Moses, and Gilmore. You have Magic, Bird, Dominique, and Isiah in their prime. You have a high scoring Jordan (37 ppg), young Barkley, Olajuwon, Ewing, and Karl Malone. There were many classic playoff moments from that season as well. Dominique vs. Isiah…”The Sleepy Floyd game”….”Bird Steals the Ball”….and the iconic Lakers vs Celtics NBA Finals matchup. We hope guys enjoy this roster as much as we are!

This sounds good. Will be looking forward to checking it out.

The only issue with Association mode might be the schedule? When the schedule for the second season is generated, won't it include all teams?

Good point and this would need to be tested I guess. I bet the generation of the schedule would default to original. Unless its run off the schedule base.

Also one thing you may want to test is if guys will resign, for some reason on my roster I made, every player would test FA, not one would consider looking at a contract which ruined the roster for me.

That's because you probably didn't edit the loyalty in reditor

Just did a prelim test on this with a 14 game association where the Bobcats were left out. The good news is that the schedule DOES NOT reset for the next season. Bad news is that the schedule shifts and another team (The Wizards) were left out the following season. So..this will likely mean that the edited schedule will only be valid for one season....unless a workaround is figured out.

Hmmmmm. That is good news with quite the perplexing caveat. Short of going in and switching IDs, I'm at a loss at the moment. Did you sim the first season multiple times without the Bobcats and then have the Wizards always missing in the next season schedule?

Actually in the 3rd season, the Heat we left out. Haven't figured out the variables in play. But I know that the time and detail going into the original 1st season schedule has been time consuming and tedious. Once it's completed, we will run some tests.

Just when I finally gave up all hope for any retros for 2k13 and started to settle for the current rosters you guys start the 1986-87 season file. Now if I can figure out how to get an offline link onto my 360 I may just have to return 2k13 to gamestop.

Amazing season selection guys. There are so many amazing scorers to play with from that season. Looks like we may see what happened if Bernard never got injured.

Sellaz, what I intended was, sim the first 14 game season sans the bobcats and then after the wizards are left out season 2, sim the first season again and see if the wizards are again left out of season 2. Sorry for my lack of clarity.

Also, the draft order would need to be adjusted via reditor--a task users, I would think would be willing to do on their own.

I'm just ready to play with Bol!

I realized that after responding....I will do another run through soon to see if the teams are the same each time. I suspect they will be.

It's funny you mention Bernard King. So this is a dilemma we hadn't really decided on yet and I would like others' feedback. We originally had planned on keeping it authentic by giving injured guys their injury status. So King, Walton, Bowie, and couple of guards in Houston (Wiggins and Lloyd) would be hurt. Problem is that is affects quick play, but not season mode. So for example, King has a 27 point reduction given his ACL injury so you can't play with him in a quick game, but in season mode he is available right away..(seems backwards to me). What we are thinking now is to make them uninjured, place them on the bottom of the rotation and then let the user decide. Too bad injury status doesn't implement in season mode...We are open to other ideas. I know there are purists out there (me for example) and also guys that would like to play out a "what if" scenario. Thoughts?

I think both are valid options. As a huge BK fan I would love to run with him and Ewing but recreating the season realistically would be a blast too. I would vote putting them at the bottom of the rotation with 0 mins assigned so both are available but its up to you guys in the. Either way, this is an amazing season to select and single handedly gets 2k12 back in my 360.

Either way is also good with me . I am just glad that you are making this 86-87 roster.

Also to add to the "what if" scenario, how about if Len Bias didn't die, and had actually played for the Celtics that year? Just like you said above with the injured players you can put him at the bottom of the rotation with 0 mins. Just a thought.

Thanks for the update of 93 teams and 90 association.
