Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
I wouldn't have given him that much but he was gonna get that money from some other team if it wasn't the Ravens. Have fun with that inconsistency, Ravens.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Mios Dios. I'm not sure whether I would laugh or mourn should this backfire on the Ravens. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

It is what it is. They're paying for a title they've already won. I don't blame them though. Sometimes you just gotta pay those past due bills. No way they could have let him walk. He had ALL the leverage in this negotiation.NFL - Vikings

Re: 2013 Transactions Thread
My issue is what we all know what's going to happen.
Around this time next year, Flacco will be restructuring this contract, flipping a signing bonus into cap deferment.
The Ravens better soak up this last SB victory though. Flacco's good. But that type of top heavy contract for a QB of his nature won't bode well for them to have long-term success.
I'm glad Joe got paid though. If ever there was a time when a player earned it on the field, he did it. Can he maintain that level to justify the highest contract in NFL history is another question.Comment

Cowboys bring back C Phil Costa on a two-year pact.
I'm pretty meh to this. He actually wasn't terrible this year when he wasn't injured, but I'm still not sure that he's anything more than a stopgap.Comment

WNST <s>@</s>WNST News: Flacco’s 2013 cap number reported to be only $7 million http://bit.ly/Yh6pFy
Not that bad of a cap hit immediately/ I'd imagine McKinnie, Ellerbe, and Maybe even Cary Williams are back. I think Reed is pretty much halfway out the door already.

Steelers have resigned William Gay, would rather spend the money on Keenan Lewis...
Just in time to get trucked by Peterson again

Cowboys place the franchise tag on DE/OLB Anthony Spencer and release S Gerald Sensabaugh.
I frankly am shocked (positively) that we're going to be able to keep Spencer. Ware and Spencer could make a good 4-3 defensive end combo as Dallas transitions to their new front under Monte Kiffin.Comment

I like the Albert move. It never made any sense to me to let a young, productive LT walk just to draft a rookie LT. Makes more sense to use that pick on an actual position of need.NFL - Vikings
