Season Length
This is usually a problem for me in MLB. I try to get through a 162 game season but always die out at like 90. What do you guys do to get through a whole season??Tags: None -
Re: Season Length
I have the same problem. This year I will play 1 sim 5 but I may play all division games.Comment

I have a notebook and I play 81 games a year which usually takes me a month or two. I go through and pick the series I want to play and sim the rest.
NOTHiNG interrupts this routine. If my team isn't good enough to win most of the sim games then the front office has work to do.
To me this is the best way to go about it and keep the feel of a somewhat long season.
Go Braves!!

Re: Season Length
what i usually do is sim half the season to the all star break , and then play the rest , that way you get some sort of sim stats but yet add ur own stats by the end of the seasonComment

Re: Season Length
I think doing the 82 game season option sounds a lot more doable than full length. That would probably be a great place to start. It takes me a full year (365 days) to complete one franchise season at 130 + games in AAA, so if you're looking for a shorter feeling season, I'd do an 82 game season and play one game a day.Check out my three critically acclaimed dynasties in the Dynasty HQ section:

Re: Season Length
For MLB 12, I have 9 or 12 games left in my first season of my franchise with the Braves. I can't remember if it is 3 or 4 series. I have played every single game in the season and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I do plan on getting MLB 13 but it may not be for a couple of weeks so I am hoping to be able to finish the season and the playoffs. I played MLB 12 heavily when it first came out. I was never a fan of any other part of the game so i spent all of my time in franchise mode. I did burn out after playing it so much at some point that I played other games that I had or released that I had gotten. It was something about the show that always drew me back to it. Being that MLB 13 has revamped RTTS, it looks like that I will be spending some time in that mode as well as franchise so I will have to figure something out to be able to advance in both modes. It's been a tremendous ride. My 15 years, my 15 minutes of fame, is up.

Re: Season Length
First thing, I have never finished all 162 games of a season. In saying that, I think it would be one the most satisfying video game experiences if it happened.
This year I'm going to try to do it with with the Twins. Hopefully play everynight I'm home while they're playing. An average of 1.5 games every two days is plausable, and that still leaves plenty of time in the MLB regular season and playoffs to work with.

Re: Season Length
I've had this problem too... I tend to start a season strong playing very nearly all the games, but I die out around June. I'm probably going to go to a play 1 sim 3-4 schedule. Somehow, I just never thought of that before. Of course, I'll have to be careful to not sim any important games/series or holiday games like mother's day! Gotta use those pink bats! I just don't know what to do until the OSFM rosters come out....Comment

Re: Season Length
I personally think its kind of fun to force yourself to play all 162.
Why?
In August and September, you always hear players and managers talking about how finishing the season is a "grind" and you hear them mention terms like "down the stretch"
So I just view playing all 162 in franchise as a "grind" as well.
I know that they are two different types of grinds, real life is a physical grind and in the game its a mental grind. But still. You just have to grind out the final month or two of the season.Comment

Re: Season Length
This is what i do in nba2k and also play every team at least once with a few other "big" games thrown in. It also helps to even out the stats as i get way above the league avg assists but way below OFF REB to name a few.
Having not played a baseball game in a long while it will depend on how long a game takes as how many i play but would always choose a full season and sim as opposed to playing all games in a shorter season.Comment

Re: Season Length
I have to play all 162 games. I dont feel right if I sim. I want to know that I am the one solely responsible for stats and win-loss record. I get bored as heck after awhile but it is a grind. Plus I have to keep telling myself in baseball that if I win just 60% of the games, I have winner on the field.Gal 2:20Comment

Re: Season Length
This is where Im going to fall in love with the new FF feature... Being able to jump in a situation and get through the season quicker is great, I'll still feel fully engaged in my franchise... Especially when I dont feel like pitching with a guy or playing a certain team but still want some control, now I can go in late in a game and try to comeback if needed... A lot better than a random 8 runs inning by the CPU after you just grind out 2 runs the previous inning...Comment

What I'm gonna try to do this year is, when osfm rosters come out I'll sim up to whatever day that is. From there I'll keep up with the season the best I can but if I miss a day or two I'll sim through the days I missed. This will at least keep me on pace with the season, then after the season I'll play the following years by playing 1 out of every 3-5 games and simming the rest.Comment

Re: Season Length
I play until I lose then I SIM the rest of the series and move to the next series and play until I lose again. Usually play 1.5 games a day during the week and 4 or 5 over the weekend.Takes about 2 months for a season, unless I'm winning a lot.Comment
