It's the same game! Kind of disapointed myself. This series was looking up imo with last years game. But at least it's a sort of good review.

Re: First review(funny)
I'm not saying you are wrong but I'd like some proof of this. I've watched tons of videos of 2k12 and 2k13 in HD qualtiy over the past few days and if there are differences it's very subtle. Extremely. I've watched the same teams head to head and I can't notice anything different. I guess i see what people are saying about possibly the faces being touched up a bit and having better attention to detail this year but that stuff could all be in my head.
If anyone wants to bring video proof to the table that the games are different by all means. The colors are definately adjusted slightly. That's been proven. New commentary. New rosters. 2k12 with patch version 1.2 was very solid though.
If someone wants to prove gameplay was touched by all means. I've been studying tape looking for hope of some changes. I'll buy it and spend the $60 if that's the case.
I've noticed the catchers seem to be touched up a bit. Their padding is more detailed and their motions seem smoother.Last edited by celtics6; 03-05-2013, 08:54 PM.Comment

I pre ordered the game after trading in at GameStop and getting an extra 50% on trades.
I agree it is very similar to 2k12 , but there some improvements.
I noticed today while playing offline , when the ball gets by my catcher , the AI actually went to the next base.
Never did that in 2k12.
Noticed a few more little things.
Also , the computer seemed to handle the bullpen a lot better on default settings.
All in all , I really like it." So long self , well it's been fun , but I have found somebody else "Comment

Re: First review(funny)
Not having played the game I do have to say that review was pretty funny.
Had 2k bothered to promote the game and made up some bogus new stuff, like a new bat-ball physics or smarter AI we'd probably consider it truth and the reviews would be more positive.
At least feed us some placebo people!Comment

This isn't even 2K12 it is worse... I saw some one talk about how awesome the colors are in the game, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! What good are colors if my outfielders are throwing the ball all over the field and I have to unplug my controller to get it to stop. I would rather play a game in Black and White.Comment

Re: First review(funny)
Are you kidding me? They undid everything they fixed last season in 2K12. The throwing glitches, the catcher doesn't field a bunt, the catcher stands in front of homeplate and doesn't make the tag, and also the janky motions of the fielders as they are running to the ball? More polished? I seriously think some people either didn't play 2k12 Post patch or in some cases didn't play it at all.

I'm on PS3 with it and to me, we're talking about two different games. 2K12 after patch 1.2 was very good. I've got some slider work to do to get this one set up as I like it, (I find it easier to hit with my 2k12 sliders plugged in) but the rest of the game is definitely an upgrade over 2k12 1.2, in my opinion.
That said, I think some of the improvements are being "over-credited" by fans of the game to help us all justify buying what is clearly a poor effort. (Even though most of us knew that going in.)
P.S. If anyone cares, I don't, for one second, believe that they only started working on 2k13 when they announced it. Some of the stuff (although minor) that has been changed would have taken much longer to implement and test than the small window they would have us (by their cone of silence) believe.
The fact that 2k has said nothing at all allows us (the consumer) to believe whatever story we concoct. The most likely (and indeed the one we did mostly embrace) was that they only had a matter of weeks to work on it. The result of that strategy is that we're placated into giving them a "pass" on much of anything new and instead focus our attention on what they did do right.
Ultimately, they save on development expense, get a good deal from MLB (which they were always going to get) and in the end, the game's sales result in MLB 2k's balance sheet being in the "black" for the first time. (At least since they signed on for exclusivity.) In my opinion, they will never develop another baseball game, anyway, so it's (almost) genius. It's about money, boys and girls. That's it and that's all.Comment

Honest comment. I've been saying that about 2K and Xbox 360 gamers for a good 3-4 years now. Some truth in that for sure.Comment
