I just started the game and let the first demo game play. Marlins at Baltimore. I like what I'm seeing so far. The crowd looks better to me. I saw pitching changes at good times. The O's had a 3 run lead in the top of the 9th and Johnson was out there to try for the save. He had the bases loaded with 2 outs and gave up a double. Buck didn't give him the chance to finish and brought in Patton(LHP) to face a lefty and seal the deal. I'm ready to dive in for my 1st game now!

Something no one has mentioned yet:

Played one game at Chase Field in Arizona and the roof is CLOSED. All retractable roof stadiums the last few years have been open.

Pinch hitter logic improved, in the one game I played, there were three CPU pinch hitters improved. However the starter was down 8-5 in the 5th and CPU let Miley bat in the bottom of 5th with Putz warming. Then in the top of 6th, Putz came in

Agree with all the other posters about colors, Yankees and such definitely fixed. Graphics look sharper overall. Lots of new unis added - including the Padres camo.

That's GREAT, I just ordered! That would NEVER happen in 2k12!

I played a random online game this morning, and it was aces! I took my Cards and Adam Wainright against the Braves and Kris Medlin. 2K has taken what was already a good online game, and really refined it to an excellent way to play the game. This should frustrate those guys that miss the online leagues even more.

Number one, I was able to easily work the count, taking balls, and even strikes n bad locations or breaking stuff early in the count, while still having time to read and swing at strikes. After five innings, I had my opponents pitch count up to around 80.

I jumped on him for 2 runs in the first, but he settled down, and I couldn't get any more runs across. With Wainright, I really dominated early, but my opponent really worked and got single runs in the 6th and 7th. By this point, we each had around 8 or 9 hits.

Wainright's pitch count was not nearly as high, because my opponent swing a lot. Not always, as he he seemed to really improve on pitch selection over the course of the game. But i still elected to PH in the 7th, because with a 2-1 lead at the time, I had 1st and 3rd with two outs and Wainwright up to bat. I wanted that run bad. But his SS made a great play, saved a hit and the game.

Randy Choate gave up a bomb to Freeman in the 8th, which forced me to try to win the game in the 9th. I had probably pushed my luck with Choate for two long, but freeman would have been his last batter. Atlanta has a nice LRLRL in their line-up, which kept Choate in for too long.

In the top of the ninth, with one out, David Freese hit a nice double to give me a hell of a shot and winning the game. that's when I lost connection and the game ended. :-(

I thought, " Uh-oh, are dropped connections going to ruin a good mode?" Well, it turns out, Charter had cut my interent while doing work in the neighborhood at about the worst time possible.

the mode is rock solid, although they could do with increased baserunner speed. I executed a perfect hit and run with a ground ball through the hole at second, only to have my guy thrown out at third. I think it was Freese, so not a speed guy, but he should have made it to third standing up.

Also, there is hesitation among the fielders. Basically, the game gives the fielders the normal head start, but registers your input a hair late, which causes the guy to hold up, and then start again. The same thing used to happen offline last year, but a bump up in fielder's speed also increased the head start you got, and pretty much eliminated that hesitation animation. I'd like to see them do that for online's default sliders.

Everything else felt like playing offline. Pitching and hitting are really fun when playing guys that understand, that 2K has really created some netcode to specifically address the lag when hitting to great effect. This started in a patch for 2K11, was improved for 2K12, and pretty darn close to perfected in 2K13. I would not have expected them to make this much of an improvement.

It really does make their decision to eliminate online leagues a real head scratcher.

I should also note, that offline this feels like the game we would have hoped a second patch would have been for 2K12. I disagree that this is pre-patch 2K12 code. But more than that, everything plays smoother and looks a little better.

And hells to the yeah, they really improved the CPU manager AI! This was pretty much the only thing that soured me on 2K12, although just started using the switch sides to PH when the CPU failed to in obvious situation.

But I will also say that this very much feels like 2K12 code that has been beefed up. So far, I've been playing on All-Star, but it needs some tweaking. I think most of it feels exactly like what I did with 2K12, so I will start with that as a base. I'm not saying all of your favorite sliders will transfer perfectly, but I think it will get you closer to where you want to be, allowing a little more tweaking. I could also find myself to be totally wrong once I start using sliders.

I've played 2k11 and 12 to death. I can honestly say 13 is NOTHING like the pre-patched 12. I really don't get how guys are finding this... I don't see anything close to that.

That is awesome to hear. But if you can, how so specifically? I really want to get this, but 59.99 whle not a ton of $$ to me, seems alot if it doesnt have many differences to 2k12. Thanks for your response!

The ball physics seem much more refined I've had a few balls hit over my left fielders head and the ball just rolled and stopped at the wall instead of bouncing.

I rented it from Redbox. Im enjoying it so fdar and will prob buy it soon. I had a PS3 for years and enjoyed the Show, so I never gave the 2k series a chance but this is a fun game of baseball

I've never seen a 2K game work the count on both sides like this one. I really enjoyed worrying about my pitcher's composure in the 4th after giving up two runs and then see it come back in the 6th. I was also able to get the Pirates to relieve Burnett in the 6th because of fatigue.
With this game's presentation and commentary, it's really fun to sit back and not button through things.

I had a great moment in a game when John Jay was coming in on a fly ball pop up, but failed to get there in time, only to have the ball bounce over him. It was a great little sequence that added a new wrinkle to the risk reward. Before, every time I've had OF come in for a ball, even if they didn't get it, they still stopped the ball there. Now, I have to consider the risk of not getting to a ball, possibly choosing to play t more conservative.

Just finished my first Spring Training game in my Jays franchise, won 2-0. Fun game and I had no issues except...I don't even know what to call it, but...

After a double switch in the 5, after replacing my position player with my pitcher, Adam Lind runs down the baseline and stands in front of the batter on the first baseline. He just stood there! After I threw the first pitch, he went back to 1st. Anyone else see anything like this?

Picked up the game about over an hour ago, played one game and hey I really enjoyed myself, was fun felt like a real broadcast, I won the other game too and it's a nice switch up for sure, didn't play 2k12 that much last year, I think im going to have fun with this game this year..

The one thing is, we can speed the pitch speed up a bit correctly it seems to slow on all star default
