Need help with a goalie control issue

I have been playing goalie in the EASHL since this game came out. I like to play out of the net, stop, and direct pucks that are on their way behind the net. I can pass them once i stop them directly behind the net, but i was wondering if anyone knows how to stop the puck and just leave it there like the CPU does?

Not exactly sure but I know to drop/leave the puck as a skater it's just tapping the RB button. So you could try that? Another hardcore goalie might be able to answer for you.

I believe it is L Trigger (or L2 for PS3)

I can't remember, I usually pass it or shoot it when I it (hardcore goalie here), but if you press select in game on the main menu it tells you all the controls...i think it's L1+X....can't remember.
