Fictional Rosters 13
Any idea if fictional rosters will be made for 2013 version of the game? I am still loving 2011 version of the game with the fictional rosters (in year 2015 with the Padres after two years with fictional white sox), and was just wondering if the project will continue?Tags: None -
Re: Fictional Rosters 13
Ah, please do them!!! I love the ones for 2011 and was considering buying 2012 just for the fictional rosters. I will likely hold off on 2013 until you make a decision. Thank you again for the 2011 version (maybe I should skip 13 and buy 12 for a few bucks after release of 13 for new game fix) I will continue to play them for a long time. I have developed a real attachment to Cain, Cooper,Van Vincent and William Hickman.Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
Id definitely be interested in them. If the previous years version doesnt get made, I have always wanted to do one of my own, with generated names from the Name data base and using a player generator I have been working on.
My thing is I cant do faces to save my life. And if people have played with them the last 2 years or so, they wouldnt be the same names and ratings, it would be a whole new set. I love the ones I played with the last 2 years, and the one Im using now, i use for RTTS and the players faces look great.Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
I have to admit that i haven't even picked up the game yet. Im a football/soccer coach and am at a different school this year. My free time is basically non-existent. Our off-season football program is crazy intense and now soccer (my spring sport) has started so that is taking up most of the little free time i did have. Spring break is coming up in another week though so I may pick up the game today after work (no soccer game today!) and start playing around with it. If I do I'll start a new topic and ask for help on the roster. I should be able to get a lot done over spring break (mar 15-24) but after that my life goes back to crazy. If I can get some reliable volunteers to help I would love to do the project again.Comment

If you send me the spreadsheets, I can probably get started this weekend. I like playing with these rosters more than the real life ones.Comment

Fictional Rosters 13
Since no one else is chomping at the bit to get started, I'm going to be going through and importing players today. No faces/names/stats, just clearing out every player on every team (and all the free agents) that has MLB service time.
When I finish, I'll upload the roster and we can decide how to proceed from there.Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
I'm happy to help a little bit here when I can. I enjoy the fictional rosters, maybe this year we can tone down the amount 95+mph fastballs.
Maybe at this point if we have enough help we can each take divisions? The Giants are number 1! Everyone else is second or lower....Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
Ive got spring break starting next week. It will be my first opportunity to pop the game in the PS3. Ive got a roster generator that someone created last year that I THINK will work well this year. The player pool that we used the last two years was generated by OOTP, I believe, and is a little dated. We typically had to make quite a few adjustments. One problem being speed of pitches as mentioned in the post above. I'm more than willing to let bloodwerth or someone else take the lead this year though, as it is a ton of work and other than the week of spring break time is limited to me this year. Ive got a soccer game tonite but should be back on here tomorrow and will see where things are. And don't think you have to wait on me by any means, any monkey with time and a copy of the game can do the same thing Ive done. You just have to be a little OCD I think. lolComment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
I may be able to contribute a bit as previously stated.
I appreciate what it takes to do all that Sluggbugg and you did an awesome job last year ((Only one I used)). Thank you for the effort. The Giants are number 1! Everyone else is second or lower....Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
I loved these rosters for 11 and 12. I'd be more than willing to help with these, if not do majority of them. If sluggbugg can PM the process he uses I'd be more than willing to chip in. I have no problem doing any part of the rosters. Just would love to have these and I have a crap ton of time on my hands. We could maybe knock these out in a week or two easy with the right people.Comment

Re: Fictional Rosters 13
This is how we have done it the last couple years:
First job is to get a base roster file where all "Real" players are removed. Easiest way to do this is to make generic players of every level. A,B,C,D etc. Batters and Pitchers, individual positions dont matter because it can be edited later. Do this by finding a made up player with each potential rating and cloning him. Save him to your hard drive as "Player A", "Pitcher A" etc. Then sort each team by "Experience". Every player that has "Experience", copy over that player with the "Player X" that you saved to your hard drive that matches the same potential level. Then using spreadsheets that we used the last couple years, edit the new players abilities.
This is what I would like to try this year:
DM's Roster Generator could make things easier this year. Only problem being that it doesn't generate "Potential Rating". Although we can just take an educated guess on what the generated players "Potential Rating" would be and use that as a base.
The generator can be found here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...generator.html
I think DM's generator would make things faster and easier. Let me know what you guys think. Or tell me to bugger off! lolComment
