    Diving over the ball

Does anyone else seem to dive over the ball in the infield fairly frequently? I understand the ball goes under the player realistically so I know it's not a bug but I just can't seem to judge them right. It seems like if I run to it I'll be too late but if I dive I go over. Anyone have any tips?

Same thing here.. I kinda like it because sometimes it will hit my chest and i just knock it down.

It makes it more rewarding when you finally do stop one and throw the guy out. Seems more real to

I really like how the have adjusted the diving animation this year. In past years it seemed like the players were like a vacuum and any time you dove for the ball it would miracly just suction into their glove if you were anywhere close. This year if you don't time it right, you will dive over it or it will hit off your players body.

My only issue with this, I seem to dive and snag the ball 1 times out of 10. The other 9 I just knock it down. The CPU on the other hand seems to snag it 9 times out of 10, and knocks it down 1 out of 10.

This is frustrating. When the ball gets hit between that area where the infielder has to field the ball standing up and diving, you either let it go by or dive over it. I wish the Show used MVP's defense controls which were much more intuitive. It allowed you to lunge at the ball in these situations to get the out. I miss that.

Ive played 4 games in my franchise and this has happened to me like probably 6 or 7 times. Its the worse when the ball gets smashed to one of your outfielders cuz sometimes they wont even touch it and it goes all the way to the wall.

Came in to say this. No complaints from me. Another nice "small" improvement.

This is happening because most of the time WE are diving (or hitting the dive button) too late...and so the player will dive over the ball. WE need to know early if the player will NOT have a chance to get it standing up, so that we can dive (or hit the dive button) at the right moment.

                  Hope it Helps!

                    Re: Diving over the ball

Anyone here ever play that Nintendo game "Baseball Stars"? The dive in that game looked like the player was trying to do the worm dance.

Amazing how far video games have come since the early 90's.
