It feels different playing on different TV's

Whenever I play in my room and I'm relaxing in my bed, the game plays great on my tv in there.

Well I bought the 80" Sharp Aquos for my living room, and I thought I'd play some MLB on it and see how it looked.

When I started a White Sox vs Tigers game, the first thing I noticed was whenever I was batting I was swinging too slow, usually my problem was swinging too early even on fastballs unless it was 95 mph or higher. And I was facing Doug Fister and his 88 mph fastballs so I don't think I was just swinging late.

The 2nd thing I noticed, was whenever I threw the ball after a hit I could see 3 baseballs, 1 bright one in the middle, and 2 shadowed on the outside of it. I never saw this before on the TV in my room so I figured it was not normal.

The 3rd thing I noticed was I was seeing way more pitchers pausing before releasing the ball than when I saw it in my room. And that was very annoying.

I was able to pitch fine, but the whole game just felt different on the TV in the living room.

    Any suggestions?

Put it in Game Mode, if it has it...otherwise you're out of luck. Some TV's don't handle fast movements well and have lag.

Wow, I just changed it to Game Mode and it worked like a charm. I didn't know it would have a serious effect like that. I didn't want to play on game mode because it looked so dark but it definitely changes the gameplay. Guess I'll have to deal with it being dark but having a game that actually works

You may be able to adjust the settings on Game Mode (brightness, contrast, tint, etc).

Game mode just adjusts how quickly the images are relayed from the system to the screen, I believe.

What's hitting like on that 80" TV? Easier to see the ball? I have a 55", but I'd love to see The Show on a huge TV.

Hi new to the site but have been playing the show since 989 days So can anyone confirm that playing on game mode helps with images issue ?
My Game Mode default is also a tad dark but it seems like Im no longer having timing issues when I swing after a few innings and will adjusting the brightness and such effect the game mode preset ?
Thanks in advance ! what a great find if it really works as I didnt wanna mess with pitch speed or timing sliders as Im having a great experience on All star Default .
Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !

Re: It feels different playing on different TV's

game mode = turning off all/most post-processing (cpu tricks) that your tv does to make the picture look so good while watching tv shows/movies. that's why game mode initially looks less spectacular to viewers.

post-processing, usually, is bad for gamers because every "process" that a tv does to make the picture look better takes time. this processing time, usually measured in milliseconds, is insignificant and unnoticed while watching a tv show or movie. but for a game like baseball, where milliseconds can mean hitting the ball or missing it entirely, this post-processing can effectively render it nearly unplayable. unaware gamers cannot tell that it's their tv causing this input-output delay (called input lag) and become frustrated.

some games where fractions of a second timing aren't important, you can turn game mode off on your tv and enjoy all the cpu tricks your tv does to make pictures look brilliant and vibrant. however, for games where split second timing is key like baseball or even a shooter like call of duty, you should always turn game mode on if your tv has the option.

most all tv's that have a game mode will allow you to adjust a few settings while in that mode. usually contrast, brightness and a few others are still selectable. if your game mode does not allow a feature to be changed during game mode, then it probably won't be selectable while game mode is on.

You should just let me borrow that TV and test it out for you.

Well in my RTTS I went from batting .240 to batting .304 when I made the switch, so I guess I'm hitting better lol.

After I made some brightness adjustments it definitely looks great, and it's going to be hard for me to make the switch back to the room lol.
