We may not agree on his value currently, but prior to injury he was easily in line to be the 2nd best FA TE behind Gonzalez this off-season.

As a skins fan I want him back because of limited pass catching options on the roster, and he is head and shoulders above Logan Paulson, who had a very respectable season IMO.

        Re: 2013 Transactions Thread

I tend to agree with people who say Rodgers may be one of the greatest of all time when he's done.

But is he worth $160 million? One of the reasons to give a huge contract would be for the box office value. Would Lambeau stop selling out if Rodgers was gone and the Packers became mediocre because of it?

He certainly has the ability to win multiple SBs but it seemed Favre would win several too, after winning the first one and stringing together several MVP seasons.

They may lock up Rodgers and a few other key players with big contracts but would it lead to the Peyton situation in the last years with the Colts where overall talent on the roster suffered because so much of the cap was tied to the QB and a few other stars?

Aaron Rodgers is the best player in the league right now and Joe Flacco just got 120M so anything is possible.

Wow! I wonder if he will just retire now. It would look ABSURD seeing him in another uniform.

The alternative is what? Let him walk?

Reports are that it's $6 million per year.

That's way too much money for Reed IMO. The guy can't tackle anymore.

Don't need him to tackle, really. As long as he can still cover and hit, we're good. Besides, he's not as bad as some of the losers we had playing in the secondary last year due to injuries.

Ed can still cover, but even he would admit that he's lost a step. He's not very physical at this point in his career(injuries are the main reason). He'll occasionally make a big hit, but don't expect him to be lighting people up on a regular basis.

Physically he's slowed down. Mentally is where he's going to help the Texans. He's a film junky. He knows what opposing QB's are going to do before they do. I can see him having a big season against the QB's in the Texan's division.

Urlacher won't be a Cowboy, we have Sean Lee to play the Mike in our new 4-3 front and we have less than 100K of cap space.

That latter fact will change when Tony Romo gets his contract extension or when Doug Free gets cut. Lee isn't going anywhere, however, he was a stud before he got IR'd.

Yep, that's all that matters. Cushing and Kareem Jackson have already come out and talked about how pumped they are to play with him. Dude's gonna boost the energy level of the entire defense. All he'll have to do is hawk.

I say lock up Rodgers and Matthews and just let TT do what he does.

                                I'm fine with that.
