What WR should I trade for? Patriots CCM

Welkah is gone to go play with Manning :/ still a sore spot for me. Love that little guy. Brandon Lloyd is gone. But hey we signed Danny Amendola(please stay healthy) and Donald Jones from the Bills.

I'm worried about the Patriots depth at WR. Yes, I know this is before the draft and Bill might draft one. However, the Pats have a bad record for drafting WRs ( Chad Jackson, Taylor Price, Bethel Johnson)

So Im open to trade for someone in my CCM.

Any ideas on who could fit the Pats system? Marcus Colston? Mike Williams from Tampa?

I want/need an outside WR and want to trade for someone realisticlly, Im not going to trade for Calvin Johnson because that would never happen in real life...at least not now in his career.

    Here might be some options

    Jeremy Macklin
    Kenny Britt
Steve Smith - Panthers (For a year or two until you develop a player in the draft)

Stephen Hill or Pierre Garcon would be good choices. Both come loaded with potential and are both good vertical threats.

See, for me, as a pats fan, I am not quite as concerned about the depth at WR because we have Aaron Hernandez, who may have, when healthy, be our best weapon last season, and can easily play WR for us in many situations. But, with that said, this is how i see our team's WR corps potentially looking if we traded for a WR.
        signed Danny Amendola
resigned julian edelman for slot wr depth and as a 4th option
hernandez plays every offensive skill position but QB
trade the saints for deep threat wr devery henderson, OR trade the jags for WR laurent Robinson, OR sign Darrius Heyward Bey in Free agency.
draft WR tavarres king in the 5th or 6th round (we recieve a late round pick likely through a draft day trade out of the first round.
specifically for your CCM, I would trade for one of the above listed options or for any other deep threat receiver you see fit and play hernandez at WR. then have amendola and edelman in the slot. also, in the draft, make sure to get a late round QB prospect, as brady generally retires early in the game. (like at the end of season 2 or 3.)

I agree with most of your points. However, Hernandez needs to stay healthy in real life. He has so much potential to be GREAT along side Gronk but needs to shed the nagging injuries he has. I think I'll take your advice on re-signing
Edlemen and Thank you for the tip on getting a QB prospect. I wasn't quite sure how long Tom lasts in CCM

Heyward-Bey is pretty solid in Madden as far as deep balls go I'll have to check him out more. Although like another poster has mentioned..I could see Kenny Britt on the Pats...troubled player w off the field issues wanting to redeem his career...Corey Dillion, Randy Moss, Talib, Haynesworth, OchoStinko, etc.

I am a huge fan of britt and i think he would finally give us a guy who we can go to on the outside consistently a la what may other great QBs have had for examples like aikman to irvin young to rice, montana to rice, manning to harrison, manning to wayne, staubach to pearson, etc. and while i would never put britt in the same breath as those greats, i would put brady there and i think that britt can play that role.

the only problem is he will cost a lot and we don't need a true number one wideout if we can pull together a saints-esque basketball style receiving corps with our go to big man/basketball center/TE in Gronk (graham for the saints) our "rebounding' jump ball outside man in Hernandez(colston for them), our fast athletic versatile wing in the deep threat we trade for(henderson for them),and our guards who play small ball and with solid form and excellent awareness in edelman and amendola (lance moore and courtney roby).

thats my take on britt, if you can get him fr a relatively low asking price then go for it, but if not, then go he same route new orleans did.

            with britt:
            WR
            1- Britt, aprrox 80 catches, 1100 yds, 9 tds (PF/SF)
            2- hernandez, approx 65 catches, 850 yds, 6 tds (PF/SF)
            3- amendola, approx 75 catches, 900 yds, 4 tds (G)
            4- edelman, approx 30 catches,450 yds, 3 tds (G)
5- all other wideouts, approx 40 catches, 500 yds 5 tds (bench)

            TE
            1- Gronk, approx 80 catches, 1000 yds, 13 tds
2- all other TEs (not including hernandez, who is being used primarily at wr), 25 catches, 150 yds, 3 tds

            QB-
            Brady, approx 440 of 635, comp pct 69.2%, 5250 yds, 46 tds, 9 ints, passer rating 112.5
            record: 12-4

            without britt,
            wr
            1-hernandez, 75 catches, 1000 yds, 8 tds
            2-deep threat wr, 60 catches, 900 yds, 8 tds
            3- amendola, 85 catches, 1000 yds, 6 tds
            4- edelman,40 catches, 450 yds, 3 tds
            5- all others, 45 catches, 550 yds, 6 tds

            te
            1- gronk 85 catches, 1050 yds, 14 tds
2- all others no hernandez, 20 catches, 100 yds, 3 tds

            qb
            1- brady, 455 of 655, comp pct 69.4 pct, 5300 yds, 45 tds, 8 ints, passer raing 111.5

            record 12-4

these are the ceiling in-a-perfect-world projections. for hte team and i dont see either being hugely different scenarios for the team in terms of success.

either way, as long as brady is under center the team should be prolific offensively and continue to have overall success.
oh, and I like your comparison to dillon, and moss, so if you colud get a fair trade then go for it, if not go for a lower end guy who can fill in for brandon lloyd while u develop a deep threat guy that u draft.

You should trade for Vincent Jackson or Jeremy Maclin.
              NBA: Spurs
              NFL: Saints
              MLB: Tigers

Randy Moss is a FA. Why not sign him for a return to the Patriots while you scout the draft/FA at season's end for a WR you want long term.

I think Victor Cruz is always a good option, and you can get him for pretty cheap.

Which draft are you on? That kinda determines whether you need a stopgap or a long term player.

I am a HUGE Randy Moss fan, growing up and living in Wiscosnin I got to see Moss a lot. He's the best WR In my life time. Not of all time however. I just don't know if the pats would bring him back

Hmmmm....why dont you just re-sign Welker and keep him as a Patriot instead of letting him go to Denver?

I'm playing a CCM with the 49ers who are my favorite team. I'm at my bye week and I re-signed FS Dashon Goldson, DT Ricky Jean Francois and TE Delanie Walker to multi year contracts despite them not being on my team anymore in reality but I'll deal with that if/when I purchase M14. Until then, I just play my way and my way is to keep the majority of my team intact as long as its reasonable money/salary cap wise.

P.S. - As for Moss, sorry but he's done and should have stayed retired. In game, he's better as a slot receiver than he is outside but at the same time, I have realized that the slot receiver always does better than the outside receiver as he usually has better matchups and is open more than the others.
