I'm all for a realistic approach in sports games but Madden needs to fix a lot of legacy issues before keeping up with current rules. Just my two cents. -
Re: Madden NFL 25 Developers Are Working On Implementing New NFL Rules
Can't lie....part of me hopes the new crown of the helmet rule is a big a cluster**** to deal with in the game as it will be in real life. Some how I know this is going to result in even more awkward/ugly running animations and collisions....all in an effort to show "The Right Way"
Maybe I need to lighten up on Tiburon for always trying to change/create their own game of football rather then replicating the one by in large everybody has loved for years upon years......
because the NFL Owners/GODell seem even more hell bent on itLast edited by SteelerSpartan; 03-27-2013, 12:22 PM.Here We Go Steelers!!! Here We Go!!!

Why do they do this every year,
"Hey we're putting in this stuff that nobody really cares about, get excited!"
"ooookay but what about the rest of the stuff that you never fix which ruin the experience and realism"(PENALTIES)
"Idk what you're talking about but hey look we are going to have a uniform rater in our fake twitter feed!"
"yea but the cpu NEVER changes their uni's EVER, so its just going to rate me probably"Comment

As mesteveo mentioned above, it's all about who has the story out the fastest.Comment

Soon the NFL will be the NFFL (National Flag Football League). This Commissioner is an absolute disaster. Another example of the wussification of America.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Developers Are Working On Implementing New NFL Rules
I expect it will be similar to 'Madden addressing concussions' of seasons past - with equal parts overreaction by fans and overstatement by the media of the effort being put forward to acknowledge the rule changes.
Just the time of the year that scraps of information like this get that kind of reception is all.

Could this be a fix or at least a solid foundation to fix, the issue with penalties like DPI and OPI not being represented well, ever, in next gen Madden?[/quote]Comment

I gotta say its funny that they are "working" on putting in the new rules, when madden is probably the worst of all the big sports games at actually implementing any penalties.
I mean, there is not even defensive holding in madden.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Well, it;'s good to know that they are implementing this rule but I also take this as they WILL fix the other issues with penalties and lack there of. Just like they said that they are putting more real refs in the game, I felt like they must be putting emphases on penalties this year unlike any other especially now that they plan to put these new ones in.
I'm staying positive on the penalties front.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Developers Are Working On Implementing New NFL Rules
we'll see how positive everyone is about "player safety" penalties when everytime a big hit is made or you run someone over its called back for a 15 yard penalty ..its a stupid rule decision in real life and even dumber to implement in this game..
you cant tell a running back to NOT put his head down and fight for more yards "outside the tackles". its instinct for protection to lower you shoulders to protect yourself and as far as i know everyone on this planets head lowers when their shoulders are dropped..its insanity, and absolutely is going to be a CIRCUS when these boneheaded referees try and differentiate what is and isnt a penalty AT FULL SPEED.
dont get me wrong im all for concussion awareness and being careful when it comes to head injuries but football is loved in this country for a reason. that being violent collisions at full speed of all shapes and varieties. when they start getting away from that is when they make it the same as a local neighborhood flag football league. It's not the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog...XBL GT: Godz HittmanComment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Developers Are Working On Implementing New NFL Rules
While I don't really care for the rule change, I'm glad to see Tiburon taking note of it and trying to find ways to implement it in the game. As others have said, I just hope that they work on penalties overall. They can really change the feel and momentum of a game, and they have been absent from Madden for FAR too long. I just hope next gen they have a sim first approach and gets away from this fast action on-line COD feel. Games can be made to play like that, but a game like that can hardly be made into a sim.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

One thing EA has to do regarding penalties is change ’clipping’ to ’illegal block in the back.’ Am I the only one whos never heard ’clipping’ in an NFL game?Comment
