I "liked" this post for the graphics comment but wanted to mention something about the bold. Not saying this poster but some used this same line last year and every year this gen whenever video of game play is released for EA football games. Please nobody embarrass themselves with that kind of stuff this year once video comes out because however IE 2.0, potential foot planting and whatever else they tout in the coming weeks and months looks, that's what it is.

Looks like they have implemented the Infinity Engine in the run game, hopefully this means totally redone running animations and foot-planting/cutting. This is one thing on my Madden must have list. Now let's hope they implemented IE in line play and blocking.Comment

You trying to make someone go pink. Can't post "paid subscription" stuff on the forum its against the TOS. But maybe it'll pop up on the internet and we can "steal" it from there haha.#WashedGamerComment

The ball carrier can already zig zag all over the field on a dime, how much more precision does he need? This just sounds like more arcade style gaming that has become a staple in Madden.Unprecedented ball carrier control and precisionComment

According to WyzaTV, the infinity engine is very much refined already from 13....

wow you just brought that to my attention. It SEEMS as though EA's main focus is the idea of creating a revolutionary feature to keep the game fresh instead of first fixing the issue. Is this going to be another gimmick? Sure it may even be cool and people might enjoy this feature, but again I dont believe that they have seriously thought of fixing the running game, but rather just a way to make it fun.Comment

Props for finding that "leak" in that rather long MUT video because I would have never paid it any mind otherwise, due to it being mainly about MUT. Anyway, yeah he pretty much let it slip that the slipping and sliding of old is allegedly fixed but wait and see of course.According to WyzaTV, the infinity engine is very much refined already from 13....

The bigger news out of this for me was the fact that they were already playing M25, which makes me wish even more that they would release actual game play, like someone mentioned in the NCAA forum that Battlefield 4 did, when hyping the game, not the usual stuff. He mentioned that they were at Tiburon for MUT but got the chance to give feedback on game play anyway. So what better way to get feedback from a vast amount of gamers than by releasing game play to the public, whenever it's time for video to be released.
I watched that whole 17 minutes of game play for Battlefield 4 and I don't even play the game but that was far more hyping than an edited trailer.Comment

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
Agreed, if they finally added foot-planting and momentum to the ball carrier, they must do the same for the defense and the rest of the players on the field. Or it just won't be right, you will end up having the ball carrier juking and the defense not even reacting to it, like it's always been.Comment

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
...quick excerpt from my blog. Would you guys welcome a control scheme like this?
RT would then be speed burst. Precise movement would obviously be much harder and performing jukes and cuts would be much different at this speed.- Precision running LT + LS - This would be mainly used for finding the hole in the back field. Holding LT shortens the ball carrier's steps to help time hitting the hole. Holding LT and pressing the LS left or right would result in the ball carrier to sidestep to that direction instead of turning, this way your always facing upfield (I hate having to juke my own players to get out of the backfield). This will help get around and avoid your own blockers easier. Imagine how satisfying it would feel being able to side step into the hole, letting go of the LT, and watching the ball carrier explode upfield. Ratings would tie in very well with this. ex. Adrian peterson would feel more explosive than a cedric benson. This would be perfect when they implement their all new foot-planting/momentum system in madden 14.
- Stutter Step/ Shake N Bake Moves LT + RS - As you are in this sort of controlled speed with LT, you will be able to perform more precise quick special moves with the RS. Imagine the possibility of being able to do things like a quick stutter step (LT + RS) then going right into a spin (RS). Combinations like this will really give people with still skills an edge over their competition.
**LT is a "tension" mechanic on the offensive side of the ball. Holding LT would also naturally be used to sort of slow down, tense up, and protect the ball. Those who are conservative and patient would benefit most with this running mechanic and bring a whole new style to the run game.Last edited by johnnyg713; 04-03-2013, 08:38 AM.Comment

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
From MMChrisS on the NCAA side.
Again, not sure if this will be shared tech or not, since nothing is confirmed on the Madden end.
NCAA Football 14 will see the introduction of the Infinity Engine, EA football's real time physics engine as well as a new feature called the 'Force Impact System'. The infinity engine will be ported over from Madden and improved somewhat over the Madden NFL 13 version, giving NCAA it's first taste of real time physics in the series' history.
The Force Impact System seems meaningful as well, with new physics introduced to the running game -- including true foot planting which accounts for weight, speed, and more when changing direction. There will be improved stiff arms and line play with the new physics, and improved blocking AI which I was told was completely overhauled. NCAA 14 also will feature a new speed burst which will trigger automatically when you get into the open field.
I will have more on all of these features as I polish up an article from a recent interview I did with EJ Manual, former Florida State QB. Expect that to hit by early afternoon!
Speed burst, yikes. lolComment

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
Everyone keeps talking about the RB getting all the attention, but the quote is "run free ball carrier." This means anyone with the ball in open field. I'm very interested to see if kick/punt returners get the love they've been missing, as well, of course, will we see Megatron get the YAC's like only he could - will we see Welker get YAC's like only he could - will their weight and/or agility factor accordingly..???
So, like most of you are saying....give us the trailer already!
Edit: P.S. I just read the NCAA stuff, and it all makes more sense, now. They are adding every possible option play to likely both games. With everything Manziel and RG3 did last year (Kaepernick and Russell, too), then the first step-foot plant and then run free refining of the Infinity Engine was tailored for running read/options more effectively. The upside to this, though, and do pray this is true...read/options MUST rely on effective/better OLine blocking/interactions. By default we may be in store for a bunch of things we've wanted fixed, just because the read/options got super popular.I'm still playing NCAA 14 and Madden 25...and you know, it's alright.

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
took this from the NCAA 14 on ESPN. I'm glad they're finally addressing these issues. I just hope it looks fluid and realistic and not the twitchy, robotic animations we've seen from Madden in the past.
Got excited when I read these, holding back excitement until I see it in motion:
In “NCAA 14,” the running back will stick his hand out and sidestep the blocker instead of making things easy on the defense by falling backward to the turf.
Running locomotion has also been improved so direction changes will actually incorporate players making cuts as opposed to zigzagging their way down the field like past iterations. Auto sprint has also been removed in favor of an acceleration burst mechanic. So now, players won’t be running at full speed at all times. Using the right trigger, you’ll be able to burst when you feel like you need to hit that extra gear. But it’s not like you can turbo your way up and down the field at no cost, as EA has also added a fatigue meter at the bottom of each player, letting you know how much energy you have on every play based on individual player ratings, and the more you do jukes, cuts and sprint, the more you’ll notice your meter drop dramatically.NFL:Colts

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature
Actually, im sick and tired of "features"!
This is stuff that should always have been part of the game of football all on its own. The naming of these features just turns me off completely instead of them just addressing "hey, we think we have nailed down key game play issues". Listing them as features only hurts there credibility even more as the next iteration the feature is never to be heard of again in most cases.
Like BigF said and I have been pushing for years, enough with the CD teases or whatnot, just give us that Battlefield 4 treatment unless you're not too confident in what you have. Thats whats gonna speak to me outside of a demo!
All in all, it sounds ok, but nothing that seems to taking this game into the direction one would hope for nex gen!Comment
