This is why I really want to see some actual game play footage from the default game play view, so we can see exactly how this all plays out in-game. My hope is that every ball carrier isn't making cuts and change of direction like Kenjon Barner but EA Tiburon does have a history of extremes like that.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
Exactly. I am not feeling the nfl blitz running back animations. Additonally, I am not sure that all the running backs shown in the video (doing the Okoye) are power backs.
EA, please make note. The truck at 1:37 is how a truck should look. The larger player wins in a head-on collision, the defender recoils from the impact and goes straight to the ground from his crouched position (doesn't get lifted into the air), and the larger player is still affected by the impact by losing some speed and being forced into a stumble. Players don't get trucked all that often, but when they do, that's how it looks. Also like to add that the stiff arm/tackle at 1:51 looks very good as well.
The stiff arm at 1:36 and the trucks at 1:43 and 1:49 are not how those play out in real life. It takes a lot of force to actually lift a human being off the ground and throw them backwards. This can happen to someone who is caught completely unaware, but it's extremely rare in cases where someone knows the hit is coming and is actually trying to deliver a hit themselves. PLEASE get rid of these over-the-top, superhuman animations.Psn: Alabamarob

Perhaps, but with new consoles on the horizon I don't think it's realistic to expect a major overhaul.Comment

kinda disappointed in my fellow os'ers. this trailer is trash. nothing about it looked good or realistic. i am def not buying. yet most of the replies on this thread are of excitement? what have we become where that gets u excited. that is recycled technology being used from games up to 9 years old!!
what made me proud was reading ppls comments bout this on youtube. they really expressed their frustration in more graphic ways that are allowed here.Follow me on twitter @schnaidt1 and Youtube @Sim Gaming Network

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
I'm skeptical anymore of any improvements and claims on how great the game will be; let's face it, EA's marketing team is not bad at their job, but I don't think the slow-mo in this video did them any favors. I still saw lots of weird sliding and gliding across the field. All I can figure is the game engine at the foundation remains the problem.
The question is whether these animations will be overdone. Static animations really need to go as is just because it feels like you lose control over your player--as if someone comes in the room and yanks the controller from you for a few seconds.
That all said at least they are trying to fix the gameplay, but is line interaction improved at all? That has been one of the worst offenders this entire generation with very little advances. My other "wtf" moment is the inclusion of Ultimate Team ...I just don't understand that at all. Is that the standard "new" mode to add this year?Comment

Supposedly, line play was worked on this year based on the articles that have been pouring out.I'm skeptical anymore of any improvements and claims on how great the game will be; let's face it, EA's marketing team is not bad at their job, but I don't think the slow-mo in this video did them any favors. Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
i know a lot of you guys are critical, but this game is shaping up to be really fun gameplay wise. Fatigue is going to add a whole new level of sim to this game. Speed burst and the new avoidance system is going to be great for not just running backs but linebackers and safeties as well. Player specific play calling. They are putting in a lot of things that make you think about football a little more when playing.Comment

I agree...I've said it before and I'll say it again: NCAA by EA is a fun video game based on college football, not a college football simulation.i know a lot of you guys are critical, but this game is shaping up to be really fun gameplay wise. Once you can accept that and either give up on the game or embrace it as what it is, not what it isn't, you will be much better off either way. Just my two cents.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Honestly, you are the man who talks of mullet. Are you effing kidding me? Is that more important than gameplay? Like, why do you care about men's hair so much.I agree...I've said it before and I'll say it again: NCAA by EA is a fun video game based on college football, not a college football simulation.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
Really? A good discussion about new game play turns to why mullets?
Why mid length socks which seemed to be the theme of the day yesterday?
I want penalties to work right, but that doesn't mean that that's more important than game play.
Everyone is different, different strokes for different folks.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
Maybe because there's something boring about having everyones hair look the same in a video game, not to mention not representative of the sports overall look...and finally it's something that Madden has had for years.
As I said above, either accept the game as what it is, a video game of football and not a simulation or maybe think about taking extra doses of Prozac.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Wow, what a troll. I'm done. You are a good sim gamer from what I've seen, and probably better at the game then I am, but your misguided man. Mullets? Really? There are so many problems with this game. Mullets? WOW.Maybe because there's something boring about having everyones hair look the same in a video game, not to mention not representative of the sports overall look...and finally it's something that Madden has had for years.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
Yes there are many things wrong with the game but as I said, this is a detail Madden has had right for years, is a small fix overall and in case you don't know, asking for art fixes is not taking away from the gameplay, they are two completely different teams. It is truly a case of apples and oranges.
As for me being a troll, LOL. A troll enters a thread to say something provocative and irrational and then watches the arguing ensue. I said the exact opposite, a suggestion for people in regards to how they appreciate the game and then gave reasons for it. So yeah, I'm a lot of things but a troll on OS isn't one of them.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: NCAA Football 14 Video - First Look at New Gameplay Engine
My complaint with Madden and NCAA for years now has been the terrible physics.
They are pathetic. It makes EA football an arcade game. Maybe this year will be different... it looks good in the video, but you really can't tell until you get your hands on it.
(Sorta is sad that the featuring is now having change of direction lol)PSN: SiiLv3RxComment
