Re: looking for a extra bat off the bench
Try Casper Wells from Seattle. OFer who can play all three positions and has some pop from the right side. The M's DFA'd him after Spring Training so he might be in the FA pool in OSFM rosters. -

Are ya usin' OSFM rosters? If so, call Wilmer Flores up early?Comment

Re: looking for a extra bat off the bench
if you're going for realism, then Casper Wells is probably your best bet. Julio Borbon could be an interesting option as I know Texas has been shopping him.Baseball fan? Join SABR today!

Re: looking for a extra bat off the bench
Brent Lillibridge is kind of a fun option because he plays 7 positions, has a solid glove, and good speed. He just isn't much of a bat though.
Nate Schierholtz and Gerardo Parra have been favorites of mine to pick up, mainly because of their awesome LF arms and they bat lefty. If you want a slick fielding switch hitter, you could go with Carlos Sanchez, in the White Sox AAA.Comment

Re: looking for a extra bat off the bench
I traded for Jose Tabata and removed Byrd jst going for youth over the better bat right now. Tabata is sort of a bust in Pit and hopefully does well w the change of scenery.
The Mets probably should have traded a bag of balls for casper in real life instead of allowing him to get claimed on waivers.- Mets

Re: looking for a extra bat off the bench
Jeff Baker can play a lot of positions and would be cheap just to pinch hit against lefties. Kevin Fransden of the Phillies would be a good backup infielder.Comment
