How can I create a player so their potential isn't an automatic A? Sorry if there is a thread for this or if someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Hey this might not be exactly what your looking for, but off the top of my head....
If you make his attributes especially low he will most likely struggle a lot resulting in a "stock falling" email that lowers his potential, this is of course in franchise. -

Yeah, I want to create players before starting a franchise. I tried creating a guy with an overall of 1 and he was still A potential.Comment

Right even with an A potential a player with a very low ovr will struggle when you start franchise thus having a very good chance of his potential dropping.
A potential doesn't always mean star player, especially for someone with a low ovr and already in his early to mid 20's. But you prob already know that.
But yeah I think a lot of people really want control over player potentials, hopefully it will be added next year. If not for existing players at least for created players would be awesome.Comment

You can't create a guy with any other potential. You would have to edit a random minor leaguer with the potential that you want.Comment
