I was thinking maybe after we're done we could all post what our intentions are with the our team, then we could "critique" the other teams. (all of that in this thread.)

Then, maybe have a tournament of sorts, where the OS users can vote for the winners. Since we have 12 teams, we'd have to have find a way to narrow it down to 8. Here's my idea...

After we're done, have each owner rank the teams (including theirs..so we would have to operate under the honor system), 1-12..once our rankings are accumulated, we have our "seedings" for the tournament.

Teams 1-4 get a first round bye, while the others are matched up, for the OS community to vote NOT on who is the better team on paper, but who they think would win in a 7 game series, based on our idea of how the team would play, the coach, etc.

Then, the tournament proceeds to the end, with OS voting on each match up.
    Rankings~~

    3. st0rmb11- The two big guys can play exceptional defense. Payton and McGrady play offense with sticky fingers.

    4. RedSceptile- Plenty of muscle. But the big guys were overrated on defense.

    5. Illosophy- Good group of big guys. Team relies too much on finesse though.

    6. Air Canada- A terrific center, and a complete backcourt. The bench is soft and Barkley wouldn't work well with Kareem.

    7. JerzeyReign- Athletic frontline. But the bigs are limited on offense.

    8. SteelersFreak- Tons of firepower. However, nobody can play good man to man defense.

    9. Reyes19- Good power and strength. Defense is their downfall, and they can't/won't pass.

    10. MavsManiac4Life- Serious one on one scoring. Not much defense or passing.

    11. KChape25- A great center. But this team can't play defense or work well together on offense.

st0rmb11 - Great defensive presence. TMac is the weak link that department but the other 4 starters can more than compensate. I like the Paul Pierce pick because that is the year he shut down Kobe in the finals. No egos on the team, and great pickup with Sam Jones off the bench, definitely fell further than he should have. Also great pickup in Steph Curry
ojandpizza - Great lineup, with an good inside outside post combo. The perimeter is top notch as well. Isiah and Wilt might cause some friction, but I could also see them sharing some comradery as well.
RedSceptile - This would be a fun team to watch. Magic throwing dimes in transition to D Wade and Durant, that would be beautiful basketball. The post defense is going to be nasty with A Train and Mourning.
Dice - Normally the team with Jordan gets #1...especially with Pippen. However, I have a hard time seeing Jordan and Malone co-existing together, especially the 91 Jordan. That was the Jordan who's competitiveness cause him to have altercations with his teammates. And where the bigs are strong as hell, they are also lacking in height. If anybody was going to block a KG/Dirk fadeaway, it will not be these guys. But you still have a great team overall.
AlexBrady - Really physical post and outstanding perimeter players. Definitely gets my vote for team most likely to knock a player on their ***. However given all his perimeter players played before the 3pt line came into existence, really huge leap of faith assuming they would be able to consistently knock down shots from 3pt land, especially with the Triangle offense, it's hard to see it have the same level of success it gained during the Bulls run. Steph Curry this season has shown how much of a difference those extra point per possession can make.
SteelersFreak - I don't love it, but I don't hate it. Offensive heavy
KChape25- I don't think Mikan could be a successful starter in this setup. If you put him on the bench and replace him with ben wallace, you'd have 3 guys with defense (stockton, wallace, and hakeem) with a scoring punch in Melo and Dantley.
Air Canada - Sorry man, but the amount of arrogance (Kareem, Barkley, Barry) in your starting lineup would just kill any type of synergy you hope to achieve.
Reyes19 - You have deadly scoring on the perimeter but those players seem too one dimensional, and they all share the same dimension.
MavsManiac4Life - If there were 5 balls on the court at once, this team would be first. But outside of the isolation ball, this team chemistry would implode. Who gets to take the last shot?

Re: All-Time NBA Players' Prime Draft

Since this hasn't started yet and more people wanted to join - I have included them so instead of 10 we are now running this with 12 users.
I've changed the draft order a little bit - I did randomize 2 numbers - Number 5 for JerzeyReign - Number 11 for plumplylumpkin.

So the new draft order is
            1.Dice
            2.ojandpizza
            3.Reyes19
            4.AlexBrady
            5.JerzeyReign ~

Re: All-Time NBA Players' Prime Draft

The first pick is gonna be

              1990-1991 Michael Jordan
              Averages 31.5 6 5.5
              Playoff Averages 31.1 6.4 8.4
The year they first won their title and swept their rival Bad Boy Pistons.
And he is the only guy on the team who is an all star that year.

I was thinking of getting a center but I'm not old enough to watch him how he plays.

Pick number 2: Wilt Chamberlain '66-'67
                    24ppg, 24rpg, 8apg, 68%FG
NBA Champion, MVP, led league in rebounding, led league in FG%.

                    - I chose this season over one of his huge scoring years because I feel like there will be plenty of scoring options on teams this loaded. And because at the stage in his career Wilt knew what it took to win it all. In the playoffs his rebound average jumped up to 29 per game and assists up to 9 per game. And it can be guessed that he was averaging at least 5 blocks per game.

                    - Also he was pushing his weight up closer to the 300 pound mark. I feel like he's the only player who could guard a prime Shaq without needing the assistance of a double team.

                    - at nearly 70% shooing he was highly efficient.. And it's always nice knowing you can get 8 assists out of your center. Also the fact that Wilt can play the entire game, and also never foul out is a huge bonus.

I just feel like every team in this will be able to score, defend, shoot, etc. we will all be loaded with talent.. Having a player who can grab me nearly 30 rebounds a game helps give me a slight edge.

Got to go with The Big O,Oscar Robertson.(61-62 Season)
                          30.8 PPG
                          11.4 ASG
                          12.5 RPG
                          47 FG%
                          80 FT%

Coming in I knew I was taking O but didn't know which season.
Had to go with this one, only player to average a triple double(i think).
Was able to get to the line and knock them down. High FG% despite taking almost 23 shots.
Very durable and his height will be an advantage against other Point and give Magic a hard time

With the fourth pick, I will select Shaquille O'Neal (1999-2000).

Shaq was at his ideal weight, 315 pounds. But right after the first title, his weight ballooned, and his defense and rebounding fell off. He will be the anchor of my triangle and with the ball positioned four feet from the basket, these defenses will have to make very risky adjustments.
