Bumhunting is the only way to enjoy this game online.

It's the only way to get a good game. People with good records are the bigs cheesers. Believe me playing bums is not that easy to beat because of the 3pt/Offensive rebound factor in the game which keeps things close. They eventually start messing up and I get the win.

How can you bumhunt? You can't see the record until you accept the challenge. Personally, I just avoid all Heat and Thunder users.

Technically if you are losing to people with better records then you, perhaps it is them who are hunting and youre the one being hunted?

He has a point though - mostly all the top tier players, rank wise, are cheesers. In my experience anyway.

Played some guy a few days ago, Lakers user, had a record of something like 280 - 16. Nothing but straight up cheese. Ran around all game long looking for open dunks, and bombed away from 3 at every opportunity and of course, played 1-3-1 zone offball D with coach sliders maxed out.

            Pffft.

You can't hunt anybody ... you get matched up with whoever the servers give you. Unless you start backing out whenever you see somebody with a good record, which would be dumb.

A lot of the time the problem is quicker reaction time. When you play a top tier person count the amount of times you try to outlet the ball up the court. They are expecting this and swipe it almost every time. If you pull the ball back and think to yourself "ok on smart shots" you will surprise yourself on just how easy it is to beat those guys. Nothing but quick reaction time and anticipating what the user is going to do.

I hear you on that, but they're just not the type of games I want to play. I can play as realistic as possible, but the minute my opponent starts playing like a scrub, it ruins the whole game. All realism is lost. I just quit out and try again, hoping the next game will be someone of a better calibre so I can get some enjoyment out of it.

Bad players are just as cheesy though. They just don't have the stick skills or reaction time. In fact, 99 pct of the online community plays "non-sim" IMO. No one runs an actual NBA offense, attempts to play tactical defense and think about what they want to take away from you, everyone full court presses, etc.

I get called a cheeser, because I am good. However, I run plays all game and I just know what I am doing. If someone wants to run 1-3-1 on me I bring out my zone buster and horns plays to destroy it.

However if I am facing a good user that is using someone like Kobe or Lebron, you better believe I am going to zone. All they do is hold turbo and run in circles, so why should I play man defense to reward them? If Lebron played like that IRL and just tried to put his head straight down and bull his way in the paint you best believe the Heat would be seeing zone every game. I don't think NBA coaches care if people they they are "cheesing" or not.

The best way to stop Lebron in man-to-man is it you have a good(great) defensive center. Play the best man you can and they switch to the center as they get into the paint. Pressing Y pretty much changes the animation every time. A big problem is that defensive help is too slow if you let the AI do it.

Actually, he would foul out, because of all the offensive fouls he would get.
