Re: OS NASCAR:Inside Line League (Schedule/Results)

OK - so the plans right now are to race on Thursday nights at 9pm(EST). The day may change due to Dion's work schedule, but it will always be on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday. If for some reason you cannot make it one night, we will award that person with last place points.

Speaking of points, below is a breakdown of how points will be awarded on a weekly basis.

    Winner - 24 points
    2nd - 21 points
    3rd - 18 points
    4th - 15 points
    5th - 12 points
    6th - 9 points
    7th - 6 points
    8th - 3 points

    Lap led - 1 point
Most laps led - 2 points

We will incorporate yellow flags, but they will be manual. If you are the sole cause, you will be moved back to the end of line, but on the lead lap. If you are involved, but not the cause, you will retain your spot(stops arguing)

We will race under the following formats

    20% races
    Fixed set-ups
    No damage
    X2 tire wear/fuel usage
    Random starting grid
    2 races per week **

** We will be following the actual NASCAR schedule, and will start tonight with Daytona, and Phoenix. I will post the results the day after each race session, along with updated standings.

I am still considering a Chase format at the end of the season where the top 5 will race for the championship in the final 10 races, with the final race being a 50% race -

Looks and sounds great to me Bob. Had a good time last night.

We have a good group of guys where winning is not the most important thing. We raced hard and clean (me and Rick were side by side for almost a whole lap). Can't wait til tonight.

I'll be online tonight. I have a feeling Daytona is going to be a good race as long as everyone has a dance partner lol

Great racing tonight. I wanted Daytona bad!! My car (or driver) sucked at Phoenix. I was wicked loose. Guess that's what i get for paying with the assists and a contoller. I need to get anothet wheel. Any suggestions? Hopefully I didn't anger too many people....

No worries Keith. We all did something that we could have apologized for on the track. If you didn't yet you will.

I have the old wireless/wired steering wheel with the wheel stand pro. It works pretty decent but I need a better wheel that is 'tighter'.

TCrouch - I am not one to have an ego. Let me know If I can get on the track with you one night so you can learn me a few things.

Keith, I would sweat it. I absolutely annihilated LTDan last night with under 10 to go at Daytona. I just didn't expect the wiggle and with the closing speed we have there once you catch the draft, it's extremely easy to take somebody out. Daytona needs some work to feel like what you see on TV. I got tapped a few times and damn near spun out on a straight there, but it was disappointing to lead 30+ of a 40 lap race and finish dead last due to the last tap. That's racing, and it certainly wasn't anybody's fault regardless. Stuff happens.

BIG C, I don't know what I can really teach ya, but I can certainly give it a shot. Phoenix in particular last night has always been a "driver's track". Hitting your marks consistently and turning laps within a tenth of each other will get you good finishes. But learning to NOT overcook the corner entries, yet not braking so much that you end up rolling down onto the apron, is a big key.

I don't think it will be as big a gap at other tracks, like Vegas and California. Phoenix is just a place that you have to really keep it straight and brake early and then let the car roll a lonnnng way through the corner. I feel like I'm off the pedals for half of each lap there. If you brake too much, you lost momentum and you lose exit speed. If you brake too little, you're scrubbing speed in the center of the corner instead. That track is like Goldilocks. Have to hit each corner juuuuuust right.

That was great fun last night guys...thanks for hosting this thing, Bob. You are a really good sport to take all my kiddin' with you I only tease people I like!

TCrouch...haha, I wasn't worried about it at the end of everything. It was still a fun race! You are a great driver and I learned a lot last night chatting with you and chasing you around. Thanks for your insights, really looking forward to the next 'go-around' as it were.

I'll happily take my finishes last night, as I feel good that I was able to stay off the walls and not too many problems, and had really good, long runs at Daytona as well. I'm happy with my ride last night

You guys are all really great to roll with, an easy-going bunch. We'll all make each other better.....maybe even Bob.

                    Turner...you crack me up.

                    Kenny, you are all class.

Dion, you really surprised me on the last lap at Daytona, nice wheelin!

                    Keith...I rarely saw you, man!

Rick seemed to have a weird night..hope all is well, man.

Jay...good to see you got some tough competition up front to keep you humble Good racing, and good working with you when we did.

I was just a driver on a mission that came oh so close
I never had a chance at Phoenix though lol. It's not my best track but it's certainly not my worst.

After those two races, I can't wait to see what the season holds for everyone.

Well, we all knew who had the best car at Daytona *cough "#5" cough*, but I still couldn't make it happen in the end. Ran out of laps.....lol

Talk about rose-colored glasses. The best car was the fastest in the field solo all day long. Turning a fast time while in the draft doesn't make it the best car, rookie

If that yellow wouldn't have flown, it wouldn't have even been a contest.

Did I say car? Maybe I should have said driver....lol. I've got to purchase another wheel. This is the first NASCAR game I've played with a controller in a long time. Just not used to it yet.

LOL yeah, at Daytona it's a huge help. Not wiggling at all in the corners helps your single-car speed a TON. Phoenix it wouldn't mean a thing, and I can go as fast there with a controller as I can with a wheel because it's pretty much "lock over the steering and throttle steer it" every corner when it's not coasting.

Some tracks you'll definitely need a wheel.

I have a perfect MS Wireless Wheel sitting in a corner somewhere in my game room, because I quit using it when I got the Elite bundle here, with the CSR Shifter:

I inverted the clutch and brake pedal, though, and run it on this:

As far as gear, I can't complain. Talent, I run out of, but it's never because of gear
