Re: Madden 25 Playbooks - Run Free and Infinite Engine 2

I will say that this is the most arcade sounding madden I have ever seen just from reading a blog, its rather upsetting.

I remember the emphasis on simulation and heading the right direction in Madden 10 and then it fell short but it seemed they were headed the right way. I am just not sure what happened to the vision with this game :/
Please take note that most of what I say and post is made in satire.

Furthermore, heat-seeker tackling makes it much easier to hone in on the ball carrier and wrap him up.
      What does that even mean?!

The AI for o-line being addressed is only 30% of the problem. Plus, they have claimed to fix the AI several times this generation. The most recent time being Madden 11 if I remember correctly.

Madden needs a COMPLETE OVERHAUL to OL/DL animations and blocking in general. They need to literally add 500-1000 animations in the trenches. With the ability for DL and OL to DRIVE their man in one direction or the other.

Also, they need to add struggle animations and tons of them. In Madden, whenever a block is engaged they just square up and latch onto one another. (Dance) When would you ever see people do that? The players should be constantly fighting and trying to get to one side or the other, or break free from the block, or lineman should be constantly fighting to maintain position and DRIVE them back.

Madden is just a simple lock each other up, dance, and one player gets a win animation.

LASTLY, please add some IMPACT blocks. Why cant we get huge crushing blind side blocks on occasion?

Can someone do a copy-paste? I'm on my phone, and their mobile site is just a bunch of HTML code. EA can't even get a mobile site right, SMH...

Words simply do not do any of what is being discussed any justice. There's lots of issues being addressed with words, but I need to really see it.

Player movement has been atrocious, so I'm happy there's much done here but seeing it is what is required.

Don't fall the fancy name calling people, the majority of this stuff has already been revealed in NCAA Football 14. Fixing pursuit angels, defensive break downs, and offensive run blocking logic has already been announced in NCAA Football 14, Madden is just stating it a different way or giving it some fancy hype name.

Re: Madden 25 Playbooks - Run Free and Infinite Engine 2

Is this not the kind of thing people were looking for to stop the zig-zagging? Surprised nobody quoted it yet (well, not really...)

If you’ve checked out the Run Free post, then you know all about the emphasis placed on the running game this year. Some improvements and tweaks have been made to the engine itself to make the running game more rewarding and fun. First off, players can now use hard cuts when running to prevent the “swerve” running seen in years past. When a ball carrier changes direction, he now needs to decelerate and make a genuine, sharp movement to get past the defender. It’s a fix that has been in the works for a long time, and the dev team is glad it’s finally in the game.
I can't load the Run Free page right now, so I don't know what that says.

Wow....gotta say, for the first time in a LONG time, I am just not excited about Madden. All these so called "new" features are almost comical.

Re: Madden 25 Playbooks - Run Free and Infinite Engine 2

While I agree some of the language could have been better, "heat seeker tackling", I like the premise of the stuff in both write ups. Of course it's all "hyped" to make it "pop" or whatever but the premise sounds good on paper.

We have been rightly complaining about pursuit angles for sometime, so they are stating they addressed them. I don't care what they label this stuff as long as it works properly and within reason. Also the way it's written it seems like evasive moves are actually necessary to break plays, not just jerking the left stick, which is great and it even mentioned ratings mattering for effectiveness. Alas it all comes down to game play video, which we won't get enough of until E3.

I post this with the caveat that I think it's all but a given the issues that won't be addressed this gen, so it's about how what they have addressed turns out. I look at all this news through a new console prism, wondering how it translates onto those systems, not this console gen. I think anyone looking for improved OL/DL or WR/DB interaction, new running animations, etc, in M25 on these consoles, should give that up.

i really hope they added lime green as seattles secondary color after all my tweets last year to EA explaining to them that they are using white as their secondary color for some reason when they already have an option for black/white or white/black cleats..just a small thing i noticed but the devil is in the details EA..fix it already and stop ignoring your fans and customers

just a quick observation of something that needs to be addressed..

why are taped ankles still looking like there is 4 inches thick of tape on the cleats ..ankle tape jobs definitely dont resemble anything like that and they should be flush and tight to both the cleat and the ankle. why the art department gives taped ankles the "bulky/ribbed" look is baffling,,again its just a cosmetic issue but an eyesore to me

I think usually on this day every year people are pretty excited but the general feeling this year is very low.

I think people want better running but they didnt get much that wasnt just a 'fix', non-auto sprint returning. Like not running into an O-lineman was the promise in M09.

Infinity engine brings nothing but fixes when i was expecting the big breakthrough given it was lucky to make it in next year.

New combos at very little to the running game.

Not looking very healthy on gameplay this year, yes lets hope for Next-Gen May 21st reveal is impressive
