Re: EA Pushes Back Connected Franchise Playbook to May 20th
I like the possibility that it was decided that a date change was needed because maybe things revealed today would have revealed other parts meant for release on the 20th....And timings is huge....Comment

Re: EA Pushes Back Connected Franchise Playbook to May 20th
Actually EA Tiburon does not do what it says it will do....Or more correctly states what it will do in less than specific language leaving many guessing just what they are doing....
Perfect example this year "redone every offensive run play blocking; brought in an EX-NFL offensive lineman." ~ very vague leaving many to fill in the blanks....Best way to do it is - release those notes and a ~ 1:00 video of an example an actual run play....
I'm getting old. I've been a member of OS for damn near 2 decades now. Ive been here when EA didnt know what the hell OS was. I was here when 2k recognized what OS was and people said we were biased towards 2k. I was here when the exclusive deal started and the site damn near blew up because of it. I was here during the bad David Ortiz years. I was here when Ian and the rest of his cronies buttered up the members at OS and tried to sell us on how they wanted the game to be sim. Suffice it to say I've been here a long time.
I say all of that to say that Ive seen it all and if one thing EA has been is consistent when it comes to the game. Madden has and always will be a football game geared toward arcade and tournament players with some sim options. No matter what EA says on OS, in a blog, in a video, in an article or at E3....the game will never be a sim and will probably never reach the level of simulation that other games have.
So that goes back to the point about insanity. For 9 yrs, EA has been inconsistent with PR. They promise OSers changes to the game to make it more sim and they always fail to meet our expectations. Part of it is because their intention is to do what ever they can to get us to buy the game and part of it is out expectations are sometimes too high.
My point is if you know the PR is skewed to make you buy the game by any means necessary and you have 9 yrs of evidence from games that fail to meet your level of expectation....why would you be upset about having to wait for information that is likely not meet your expectations and will based on past experiences likely disappoint?Comment

Re: EA Pushes Back Connected Franchise Playbook to May 20th
1. Our gameplay suggestions dont translate well in the final product.
2. We dont have an alternative NFL football game.
3. Other sports games are far ahead of Madden in quality and depth.
Only in the Madden world is it insane to expect a company to create a game that replicates its sport in an authentic fashion.Comment

Not true at all. When we were much smaller, there were plenty of even tempered, reasonable thinking people who visited this site. We existed fine back then. Once we got bigger, the insane ones started to drive the sane ones out.Comment

Re: EA Pushes Back Connected Franchise Playbook to May 20th
I appreciate AJ coming on and posting regarding the issue. And if we take them (EA) for their word, and this is nothing more than a decision to release all information at one time, then I have one question.
Why not move up the part 2 release to today instead of moving the part 1 release back? I would imagine that would have had a complete opposite reaction from the community. Personally, I'm with those that feel this has more to do with lining it up closer to the 21st.Comment

Yup you are right. We are disappointed

When ppl are talking about disappointment, we are referring to it in relation to today's announcement not that you cant be disappointed in the game.Comment

Re: EA Pushes Back Connected Franchise Playbook to May 20th
It could still happen. I'm not a big fan of the potential of ea having an exclusive deal with the next gen Xbox, but I do question that choice to put both on the same day before a company's major reviel of a new system, and add that rumor to the mix. Not to mention there is that huge gap of information between the 20 and June 24 with the "madden share" announcement. Which some believe to be some sort of next gen feature.Comment
